Forums - Gaming - Questions about Crysis 2 (PS3) and EA Online pass.

I am on the fence about buyin Crysis 2 now because I was going to rent it but I want to play it online. I am heading out to Bestbuy in a few in hopes of testing out a 3DS and I have a good chance of coming home with Crysis 2. Anyways, here are my questions.

1.) How is the frame rate in the PS3 version? Is it as bad as sites like IGN make it out to be? Even if not, are the frame drops bothersome and take away from the experience?

2.) Does it play anything like CoD and/or Killzone 3?

3.) Online pass. I hate the idea of this crap because I think it is unfair. If I enter the code, could it ever be used again?

I ask that because I wonder, if my PS3 ever has an issue and it ever needs to be replaced, would I need to shell out another $10? If so then I might stay away and I would hope all future EA games sell like shit.

No, this game doesn't have EA online pass.

well il nominate myself to be the best person to ask.

1: frame rate is ok, seemed similar to 360 version, segments in game it does bother you especially when you are in a huge open space combined with firefights. its not as IGN made it to be though, later on in game it seems smoother especially when you are in smaller enviroments.

2: no, its not like cod or killzone, the nearest game id compare it to would be half life 2 experiance

3: you do have to register to access my crysis, the codes i got with my copy are for limited edition dog tags etc i didnt have to enter code to play online

any other questions ask away

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

1) It's truly not an issue. I haven't experienced any frame drops. The frame rate is said not to be on par with the 360 version but it really isn't a problem. The single player looks so much better than what we've seen in the PS3 demo.

2) It feels more like Halo to me.

3) I don't know about that.

So it doesn't have an online pass?

Alright, i'll probably be picking it up then.

Also glad to hear that it plays different from Killzone. It is nice to have a little variety in my FPS.

Thanks a ton guys.

For whatever reason Crysis 2 doesn't make you have an EA online pass to play (which is good though)

It plays like a cross between COD, Killzone 3, and Halo Reach.

Alright, I picked it up.

Of course I will give impressions later.
