The gap between PS3 and 360 sales of COD games has been decreasing year over year.Black Ops sales of both the platforms are separated by just around 2m

The gap may decrease further this year following pricecuts of PS3 which is still way overpriced compared to 360

Along with this NGP releasing this year and COD coming to it.

Now we know there will never be a cross platform play between 360 and PS3,atleast in the near future

But here comes NGP which is a Playstation family device and as devs have said how easy it is to port a game and as both NGP and PS3 will use the same gaming network aka PSN which would bring crossplatform gaming.

The combined sales of Modern Warfare 3 on NGP and PS3 could surpass 360

But can it surpass sales of Modern Warfare 3 on MS platforms? (360 and Windows)

Well, taking both the NGP and Windows out of the equation, I think the PS3 version can still close the gap even more with MW3.  Next time, it will probably be a little closer to 1.5 mil than 2 mil.  Then again, who knows if the next MW will sell as well as the last 2 COD games.  I think even Activision was saying they don't expect MW3 to sell as well as Black Ops.

But how much will the NGP really sell this year and in the first couple of month is still a big mistery since it dosen't have a firm price, release date, and launch line up yet.

but if NGP and PSP have crossplatform gaming then it will contribute and act as one platform which doesn't happen with 360 and PC

i think $250 will be the price as SONY doesn't want to lose out and SONY is ready to lose money at start

also there is no other big franchise out there that could help NGP as much against 3DS so SONY will like to take advantage of it

first a lot of PS3 fans seemed to be pretty pissed off over black ops TBH and I doubt the gap will close much if at all. 

As for the NGP while cross game play was talked about it has never been confirmed and the PSP also uses PSN so that proves nothing. And even if it was you still can't combine the sales on the 2 platforms...

I would not be surprised to see that difference under 10% in the next iteration. Very impessive in my opinion given the circumstances.

On the other hand, recent FPS releases show that the genre is still a hallmark of the 360 console. FPS in my opinion is synonymous with the 360 at this point.
