^^^ If you never played the game of course you would like it. its a good game, but most reviewers have played the game. Are they expected to pretend that they never played it and heap praise on this version??? that would be wrong, especially considering there are much cheaper ways to play the game

Your absolutely right and I think that is the reason Rayman got bad reviews. It is apparently a bad port of a great game. But if you haven't played it before (Which I haven't) it is an amazing game. A few issues that have been pointed out but its still a great game.

Its like getting upset that SuperMarioWorld on VC wasn't improved at all when ported to Wii. Its a port from DreamCast and other then 3D it is the same game (Apparently) with all of the same flaws. So people who played it back on the DC aren't going to appretiate it as much as myself who never played it.

Its a great platformer, everyone agrees about that. Its just not the highest quality port. Also which cheaper ways could you play it? The DS port was apparently way worse and are you going to go out and buy a DreamCast so you can play it? Or buy a PS2 if you don't already own one and purchase the game off Ebay or something?

In the end I think for 39.99$ you get your money's worth if you've already played the game on DC then this is supposedly a downgraded port, so you may not enjoy it as much as someone who's never played it before!

What pisses me off the most is their attitude. Don't pretend like you are really supporting Nintendo.

In comparison to other western publishers, they are. Note how Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars is the best received Western game so far on the 3DS. Also note that they published the No More Heroes series, have made the relatively high quality Rabbid games, Dawn of Discovery, Prince of Persia, Blazing Angels, Shaun White, and a variety of decent dance and fitness games.

Other than Nintendo, Ubisoft is probably the biggest supporter of Nintendo systems at the moment. Even with the shovelware and ports.

A straight port does not warrant a full price.

I would agree but it is 3D and it is pretty dang good. Plus 39.99$ is a steal for any 3DS game port or not. The dev costs are way higher then DS yet software prices are remaining the same. I'd say a Rayman port is worth 39.99$ now if they launched it on 360/PS3/Wii and charged 59.99$ then I would agree its way to much to charge for a port. But look at Mario64:DS it was a straight port with very few new things and it sold at full price, should Nintendo have sold it cheaper?

I would have never expected this from Ubisoft [/sarcasm]

Yes, they should.

IMO, ports don't deserve full price. Remakes, maybe, depends on quality.

Well then your gonna love LOZ:OoT , I wonder how much remaking of StarFox their doing, or will it be a straight port. Hopefully not!

@joecool7  i gotta agree with Galaki and Rol on this one, Rayman 3DS should not have been full price not for a port. IMHO Ubisoft was being lazy and taking advantage of early adopters also the Mario World comparision is not a great example price just being one reason. from what i read in several reviews the 3DS version is actually one of the worst. i heard there were alot more bugs thatn any other version. also you ask what are the cheaper alternatives?? plenty you can always get used copies for cheap on Amazon or Ebay or if you have PS3 or PSP the same game is 5.99 on the PSN. I really doubt the 3d effect is worth 32 dollars more. I just find it hard to believe their are people who were willing to buy this, especially those who were suppossed to be huge platformer fans. it was released on PS1&2, DC, N64 and DS, surely people must have owned ONE of those systems but WTH, im glad your liking it. I just need to find time to actual play the damn thing

@salnax  id say Sega was a bigger supporter but i could be wrong
