That's basically how it's done in the U.S. until high school where you can take an optional sex ed class. But the class isn't taught in every school.

Interresting. Are many people choosing not to take the sex ed class? Are there many people who are ignorant about those things, or does the system work well?

Learnign from the parents? LOL really? Do people actually talk to their parents about sex. Over here if you wanna learn about this stuff you need to use the Internet. There's really no other source.

We did have 1 class regarding puberty, but it was when we were 15, so it was kinda too late (I actually could've used some of that info when I actually started puberty at 11,especially the info about wet dreams - there was a period when I was afraid to go to sleep because of that LOL).

Wow, that's like a night and day difference. Are many people ignorant about these things, or does looking up things for one self work?

Anyways, I'm able to answer any questions about Sweden I guess.

Why you guys hate Karlsson på taket?

Hate Karlsson på taket? Are you crazy? He's made by Astrid Lindgren, one of our most beloved authors, and many people, like me grew up watching him on TV and reading the books. We most certainly do not hate him, I can't think of any reason anyone would.

@Saphi snake: A dude with a propeller on his back that can fly around and lives on a roof, a children's book character. (Karlsson på taket = Karlsson on the roof)

Most people are ignorant. And you can't really trust the Internet. I remember googling masturbation when I was a teen, and one of the first results was a site that sad masturbation was bad and dangerous for you.

What's sad is the lack of knowledge the adutls have regardign contraception. Contraception was illegal over here during the Communist regime, as there was a pro-natality policy (sort of like the opposite of China). You'd be shocked if you heared what little 40 years old adults know regarding birth control. It's embarassing.

The parents need to approve whether the kids take the class or not (if I'm not mistaken). The religious ones will probably opt out and feed ignorace to the kids.

Swedish people: Do you like Stieg Larsson's The Millennium trilogy?

What do you think of prostitution?

What do you think of Ingmar Bergman?

Is life better now after US had freed you from Miloshevich and his commies, how big are the changes? Do you feel somewhat thankful or obliged to America for the help? Do people there want the country to join NATO?
