Oh my god what's wrong in predicting. If you think I am trolling you can leave this thread now!!! It's called long term prediction how is that trolling! The point of this thread is to predict with no information out. That is the fun part.

I think you're crossing into the realm of madness in terms of predictions. I am just saying that I really don't know how this can even come close to predicting taking into account that NEITHER of the consoles have been announced, we don't know their line ups. We don't even know if the next consoles will launch for definite, maybe the global market crashes and one of them or both have to withdraw from the VG console market? You can't base the current sales on the next gen consoles, which will start userbases from scratch. PS2 was a software behemoth whereas Xbox was the meeker one, right now 360 is in terms of attach ratios/SW sales, I don't think anyone could have predicted it.

What the heck is wrong with predicting for next gen software. Your acting as if I am doing something illeagal. Yeah and you said it yourself 360 is the one beating PS3 in software sales right now! No one could have guessed that but I am sure people did. I am just giving my point of view on how PS4 might have a chance of beating the Xbox 720! I may not be right but that doesn't mean what I am doing is madness. And if you think the gloabl market will crash down in just 3-5 years that really proves you need help.

The PS4 might be completely different to the PS3 - likewise with 720. Long-term prediction is like trying to work out the long-term sales of the 3DS or NGP, but this is literally impossible to predict.

The next Xbox is going to benefit from better brand recognition, though mostly in the US.  However, one of the biggest threats MS faces next gen is a much stronger launch from Sony.  Sony is not going to make the same mistakes they did with the PS3.  I think Sony is going to make sure that the PS4 is not only powerful, but also cheap enough to produce to price cheaper than the PS3's $599.  This will partly be helped by using the tech found in the PS3, but in their enhanced form.  A stronger launch by Sony should help them pull ahead of MS for the rest of the gen.  With more HW sold, it will lead to more SW sold.

Killzone 3 is already bundled. In the US you can buy a 160GB for $299.99 or a KZ3 bundled 160GB for $299.99.

That bundle explains the appearance of strong legs for KZ3 in the US. Killzone 3 sales in the US will almost always mimick PS3 console sales. This is why Killzone 3 will most likely pass up KZ2 easily. You're talking almost 100k/week in the US every single week until the bundle is gone.

It has been since launch. Of course I could be reading it backwards.

I think games like Uncharted, Killzone, and Resistance will have their last " hoorah " on the PS3. Sony and MS will have a bunch of new IPs next generation. ( Except for Halo and GT )
