GameStop 'Struggling' to Keep PS3 Move Controller in Stock

On its earnings call, leading games retailer GameStop sounded extremely bullish on Microsoft's Kinect platform and its continued momentum. While the overall sales picture definitely appears to favor Kinect over PlayStation Move, GameStop let it be known that Sony's motion controller is still doing pretty well too.

"We have struggled to stay in stock on the Sony Move controllers; there's a tremendous amount of demand for that," said GameStop's Tony Bartel. "Provided we can get more into stock, we should see some strong growth there as well."

Unlike Microsoft, which has been touting its Kinect numbers, Sony's been far more quiet about the sold or shipped figures on Move. Last December, Sony said it had shipped 4.1 million units worldwide.

I'm glad PS Move is selling well too.

Good news for PS3.

The controller is really nice. Pop out some beastly games for it and sales will go through the roofie!

This is very true in that since launch independant Move controller have been very hard to find at our locations.  The Sports Champions bundle however was virtually never sold out.  Pretty much company wide we are sitting at full stock on Move controllers at this point but up until about 2-3 weeks ago they were almost impossible to find.

This is great news for Sony however the main reason independant controllers were so hard to find were mostly due to current Move owners needing second controllers so while it doesn't change things from a financial standpoint, it does from a userbase standpoint.

Boo-hoo, cry moar! Move still sucks and nobody likes it because it has no gaems lulz ¬_¬

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

I call BS. I know this is a legit quote and call to investors, but I smell foul here as I've routinely seen it in stock at my local gamestop, a couple walmarts I frequent, as well as costco. However, I've only seen Kinect in stock rarely and mostly in the 360 bundle vs stand alone.

I have never see a move controller, including the new bundle, out of stock throughout this year.

It would be nice if we had some more games

I have a sharp shooter, and I tried playing KZ 3, but I really suck at it and have no stamina, the future of move isn't just FPSs, where the hell is Sorcery?

a storm is coming....

perhaps this should be viewed in context

like how stores in japan struggle to keep 360s in stock when vesperia came out.

point: not much was ordered. we all know move is a sales flop
