I admit the performance could been little better in some areas but like i said the game isnt some closed quarters or fixed camera along so its win in my book

it is win, its terrific. but unfortunately in graphics comparison you have to factor in things like that.

and unfortunatly for you, you dont own a ps3, so you dont get enjoy games like KZ2,3 UC2, GOW3.

also it amazing what crysis can do with its less linear nature than most games (still not open, and still not as open as crysis 1). and even though U2 and KZ arent open, does not mean they are closed quarter, they have lots of open areas, and are much more open than most tps/fps. also in the making of vids that came with GOW3, they talk about how they still have to create and render, the entire environment (even the parts that dont apear on screen because the camera does shift around as the player moves, and they cant be sure which part  will be visable

This thread is so sad. If any of you really cared about teh graphics you would be getting this for pc anyways. It looks like the 360 is the slighly better looking version of a great looking game. The ps3 didn't get a crappy port, so stop using this shit as fanboy foder.

Well said.

vid has been posted before. and its just repeating the sites you mentioned. which the majority of them say it one of the best, some say its the best fps, while about 5 say it is the best.

so your point?

like i said, those sites arent really voices of authority, DF and LoT are. and they say its not the best looking.

so it seems your the one in denial.

also werent you the one trying to say Halo's graphics are better/comparable to KZ. yep that was you.

but just so we are clear, you are claiming a game that is not even rendered in HD (not even 720p, ore something higher). correct?

The purpose of DigitalFoundry is to give non biased in depth about the game as much as possible and whats going on under the hood and Lens Of Truth well see for yourself

Lens Of Truth

you have posted that pic so many times, what is your point with it.

both lense of truth and DF have proper advanced equipment to analize the technical aspects of games.

neither you or ign, or any other site saying it is the best looking have that equipment.

that lense of truth are bunch of amateurs trying to get in on digital foundry spotlight

what makes them amatuers?

their findings are not to your liking? what?

they are profesionals with proper equipment to evaluate Crysis as well as other games.

but even if you ignore Lot (and drool over what ign said), DF still said proved its not the best looking game.

so youre not going to answer my question.

Do you think a sub-HD (meaning not in HD) game, is the graphics king?

First of all you can't "prove" a game is the best looking game. Thats the dumbest thing I've ever read. Can I prove that Michaelangelo is a better artist than Leonardo Da Vinci?

Secondly the only equipment you need to see graphics are your eyes. I don't care if they have a super computer that analyzes every single frame pixel by pixel. Its what you see when you play.

OP wont take quotes from the article then i will

Digitalfoundry

There's little doubt that the Xbox 360 is the cleaner, crisper experience and for the most part it commands a small but significant frame-rate advantage and fewer little glitches; especially outside of combat scenarios, the game just seems to run that much more smoothly.

However, there are parts of the game that seem to be brutally unoptimised, bringing the performance level crashing down to the point where the afflicted sections become almost unplayable - a variable 15-20FPS update in an intense fire-fight is hugely disorientating, and this makes Crysis 2 one of the most inconsistent performers released in recent times. In these situations, it seems that it is the Xbox 360 version that has the most difficulties, though there's no mistaking that both platforms seem to lag badly in much the same areas. Interestingly, the really poor-performing sections do seem isolated to specific areas in the campaign, and from the hive infiltration level onwards things seemed to improve, but it's quite difficult to believe that those areas of the game got through QA without someone, somewhere raising the red flag.

^thats pretty poor performance for a game a small handful claim best grafix ever!

Performance may not be the best out there but visually and technically Crysis 2 is in league of its own

yep it couldnt get into the big leagues where U2, KZ, and GOW3 reside

Crysis 2 is in the big leagues, but it is more of a designated hitter.

He hits the most home runs and drives in a ton RBI's which is fantastic, but does average/below average in almost every other aspect.

Killzone 3, God of War 3 and Uncharted are more on the lines of a 5-tool player. Can hit home runs, drive in a ton of RBIs and also does extremely well in almost every other aspect.

One has top notch graphics.

The others have top notch graphics, very high and stable frame rate and little to no graphical glitches or buggy AI.

thats a very good analogy. iwold say its around the 4th or 5th best looking game ever. its truelly remarkable what they have done

and as for the post right above me.

killzone is regarded as some of the best AI in any game. and runs nearly perfectly.

I don't remember reading reviews about Killzone 3 missing shadows, texture pop in, object pop in or bugs. However, the game was a bit easy, I admit that. I had more trouble with Killzone 2.

So yeah, Killzone 3 AI may not be the best, but I don't remember it getting talked down on like I am seeing with some reviews of Crysis 2.

It seems to perform much better overall.

Not taking away the fact that Crysis is probably still very fun to play, but from all the hype Crytek gets I expected a bit more from their engine.

I still want to play it though. Gamefly hasn't shipped it yet.

Show me where its regarded as some of the best AI in any game and I'll agree with you. In the meantime I'll stick with my analysis which I got from being able to snipe each individual enemy in the head while they watch their AI partner fall and still ignore me. The AI in Killzone3 hides behind cover the whole time popping their head up to shoot. They don't try to flank you. They don't move around very much. Halo:Reach has better AI but that is a different discussion.

The PS3 version maintains its frame rate throughout the whole game perfectly even though its lower than the 360 version. The 360 version however has frame-rate going below 20 fps in some scenes. What this means is that the PS3 version operates more consistently then the 360 version, but the 360 version seems to hit 30 fps a lot more.

There is no screen tearing visible on either consoles.

Which is why he seemed to think that either versions are equally good.

Did we read the same article? Do I see objects that you are pulling out of the air?

Let me quote from the article for you,

There's little doubt that the Xbox 360 is the cleaner, crisper experience and for the most part it commands a small but significant frame-rate advantage and fewer little glitches; especially outside of combat scenarios, the game just seems to run that much more smoothly. In these situations, it seems that it is the Xbox 360 version that has the most difficulties, though there's no mistaking that both platforms seem to lag badly in much the same areas....

On balance, 360 has the edge in terms of visuals and general performance, but PS3 more than holds its own, bettering the Microsoft platform in some areas.

I did not read "equally good" between both versions in the ARTICLE! You should definitely re-read because something is clouding your point of view and I can smell that shit a mile off. It don't smell good.

I am pretty sure the quote he is referring to was said about Killzone 2, not Killzone 3. However Killzone 2 and 3 are said to have very good bot AI. It is said that the bots have 2 seperate AI schemes. Commanders and soldiers who not only do their best to think for themselves, but also react based on the commander's orders.

For example, in Killzone 3 the bots work as a team. They escort speaker holders, in capture and hold or sabotuer defend they cover doorways and hallways and try to use the environment as cover. In assassination they swarm the target together and use their abilities approprietly.

However, in the case of Killzone 2, while the enemy AI was, at the time, considering one of the best AI in an FPS your team mate could sometimes be really dumb. However I was OK with that because in the end we find out Rico was in fact really stupid anyways.

Personally, that is a big plus for me because I like bots. I think every FPS should have them.
