Forums - General - Christmas(holiday)movies: what are your favorites?

Ahh yes, why didn't I think of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation?!? It's a really good movie, but I dunno if it's the best. Definitely one of the best of it's era though. Do I still get to post???

Bad Santa...well I usually don't criticize other people's favorite things...but I'll just assume you are being sarcastic(so I can have the slightest shred of hope for humanity) with that choice hehe. It's one of the few movies in recent memory that I sat down to watch and couldn't finish it was so bad. Another would be Charlie's Angels.

*smacks self* How could I forget about How the Grinch Stole Christmas?!?! I'm talking about the old cartoon, as I haven't saw the live action movie.

Spaceballs is a damn fine movie by the way.

A Christmas Story. It's based in my hometown!  The writer's house, which the house from the movie is based on, is less than a mile away.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Oooo, that's pretty cool, Ben. Is it a lot like the one used in the movie? I know the one that was used in the movie was bought by a fan and is open to the public now. If I'm not mistaken the director of the movie was killed by a drunk driver this year, which (of course) really sucks.

The Ref - Dennis Leary rants. Anyone shocked?

Also, Christmas Vacation is by far the non traditional classic. Grinch, Miracle, they are traditionals, but Vacation is holiday comedy perfection.

Glad to see Die Hard made the list. Xmas Vacation, A Christmas Story, Bad Santa, Elf.

Ummm... Alien Vs Predator: Requiem?? No, it's not a holiday movie but it's out for Christmas and the only movie I'm currently interested in seeing. Why do they release action/horrors at Christmas all the time anyway?

Shrek the Halls was quite good. Much better than Shrek 3...

Yep , thats my most wanted movie this Christmas ... I  really hope they wont screw it up though :?

That is awesome!  Where is your hometown BTW?

I live in the Northwest and have seen the house where Goonie was filmed.
