So basically, he's saying Crysis 2 (PC) > Crysis 2 (360) > Killzone 3 (PS3) > Crysis 2 > (PS3)
I'm just kidding. I'll leave, now.

Seems like...
Graphics: Killzone 3 > Crysis 2
Art Style: Crysis 2 > Killzone 3
Uncharted 2 > All IMO.
Serious now... I disagree with onething: Killzone 3 had moments with so much things happen at the same time like ou even more than Crysis 2 (compared with what I saw in videos).
lol save the warning till the very end, niiice
I like this. However one thing I disagree with is AA. You can clearly see aliasing or jaggies on the buildings, that wouldn't be so if MLAA was used and he is just BSing with the the whole more open and stuff. Fact is the saboteur on the PS3 which is quite open uses MLAA as well and has no jaggies for the most(90 %) part.
And the screenshots he posted doesn't look that good at all. Maybe its because its taken from a TV and not directly captured. Because the leaves and the objects look like a joke.
| CGI-Quality said: He makes good arguments for both. He does show a little favoritism to Crysis 2, but how could he not? He enjoyed it more than Killzone 3. Only thing I question - amount of things on-screen. I haven't seen a scene yet with things as hectic in Crysis 2 as Killzone 3's most hectic sequences (but again, I have yet to play it). Still, it's informative, even if it's just his perspective. |
well i have always been amazed at Crysis 2 lighting, but i didnt think it had any advantage over killzone (i was termendiously impressed by both, for many reason, but they are very different).
but yeah, i did scratch my had when he said that, i havent seen a game render more chaos on screen as kZ3.
but its still good to know that Crysis looks great, i was bit worried (hopefully the character models look a lot better than not only crysis 1 but also the demo, thats alway been one of crysis's weak spots)

What he is saying is both game can at time look better than the other. So in his words graphically Crysis 2=Killzone 3. He prefers Crysis 2 artstyle over Killzone 3. Once again we have PS3 defenders in here disagreeing with someone who has played both games, given his opinion on both games, and come to the conclusion that Crysis 2 is as impressive as Killzone 3.
@CGI
He talks about more stuff being rendered on screen because Crysis 2 is a more open environment compared to KIllzone 3. Killzone 3 is very linear therefore less stuff needs to be rendered. This doesn't mean Crysis 2 has more enemies than Killzone 3 or more "stuff" happening on screen. It means more of the environment needs to be rendered. He is wrong in saying more stuff is rendered on screen because you can only see so much on the screen at a time. What he should have said is CryEngine 3 has to render more stuff in realtime because there are more places to explore.

Just from my take right now, Crysis 2's lighting is what's truly astounding. I can't say if it's the "best" or not without playing it, but from the vids, it is top notch, as are the textures and particle effects. However, there's not much more that I've seen that's truly making me think it's pushed beyond Killzone 3. Still ,my impressions will be up this week or next week. |
since i too have not played the final version of crysis 2,
The MAWLER level is the best lighting i have seen in any game. its drop dead gorgeous

Indeed. The wording is where the confusion sparked. |
Are you getting PS3 version or 360 version?
