I played it earlier today and was not impressed. Pretty much cemented my non-interest in it.

interest is a totally different issue. Did you have interest in the DS?

Did the 3D work well for you though?

Not really. Despite hurting my eyes much worse than any 3D movie (they don't hurt my eyes at all, I just need to adjust them a bit), I did notice some depth. It's not real 3D, but stereostopic and it was noticable in some of the AR games. I'm sure some of the games that release for it will actually use it properly.

As far as interest, I wanted to play some of the games that were announced (Professor Layton), but I'm certainly not going to be in any hurry to buy one. I waited several years before getting a DS (I got a DSi for myself not long after they released) and the 3DS is far less compelling imo.

Ahh so in line with your terrible taste in everything (note: it's a joke I say to outlaw on steam all the time

I wonder how hard it would be to request a ban for this flaming?

"We'll toss the dice however they fall,
And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

After seeing the 3DS in person and being rather disappointed by the 3D (shocker there) as well as hearing not all games will be in 3D. They should have just called the system the DS 2 or the HDS. I'll get the system surely but it definitely isn't on my priority list at the moment. Give it a FF though and it will boost up there ^^

Im wondering if it will get FF Type-0. Since if we do get it, it will be at the end of the PSP's life. Also, a easy way for SE to get a start on the 3DS.

I doubt it will because that would be a very bad decision. The game is already wired up for the PSP and is almost complete development wise. Why scrap all that effort now and move it forward to another platform that is new to the market and is in only 1 region (that is in economic turmoil atm)?

I could see a port in the future but not an entire platform change.

Meant as a multi plat.

Don`t know if i should had written this somewhere else, but here are my impressions of 3DS:

Today i had the chance to - briefly - experiment 3DS! Winning! That`s right: Winning!
First of all, i got to say was apprehensive about the 3DS effect. Every 3d movie i tried made my eyes suffer for the whole movie. I ended up thinking 3D was not for my eyes... except for the 3DS!
When i got there, 3D was already on but on a low level, which ended up becoming a sweetspot for me.

1st question: Is it hard to find a sweetspot? No it isn`t. Your eyes will really tell you how far you can go. I tried going full 3D but it ended hurting my eyes a bit so almost instantly i knew to what point could i raise the bar and at that point it became really comfortable - it really did.

2nd question: Is it easy to lose the 3D effect? Ok, this is a tough one to respond to because i had quite a bit of reflection on the console and i can`t say exacty say if it the 3D viewing field is small or not. though, in a personal perspective i barely move the console while playing so it didn`t became an issue. Still i have the feeling that the 3D viewing filed isn`t that big.

3rd question: At what distance does the 3D effect feel natural? I played Kid Icarus - looks awesome with the 3D - while looking down and 3DS in my hands at 15-20cm or more and the 3D effect looks great. Even when i had to to take a 3D picture, while stretching my arms at front, 3D was still there and looked good. So i believe that those used to playing DS or PSP will still very much feel the 3D effect.

4th question: Does 3D look like 3D? Yes it does. But you WILL feel differences depending on the game you play. I played Kid Icarus, Nintendogs, RE: Mercenaries, Face Raiders and AR... i still can`t believe i missed Zelda... and 3D was really meaningfull in Kid Icarus, especially on the flying parts.
On thing i realised is, despite my brief moment with console, is that some genres will benefit more from 3D than others and that games have the 3D effect on a depth scale instead of just throwing it at your eyes (screen) will make for the most enjoyable 3D experience. That`s why a think Kid Icarus was my best experiment of all the games i played!
