Forums - Sony - Is Lair for the PS3, that bad of a game?

Yea, pretty much there were a lot of factors that made this game not so great. Heck, it even feels similar to the Rogue Squadron games as well, just without the Star Wars music, characters, voices, and fans to hold it up. There were some cool areas, but most of the game was meh, especially the final level.

It doesn't control as bad as people say it does. It obviously takes some getting used to, but if you don't jerk the controller around and do steady and smooth movements, you'll be fine. Like somebody said, sometimes the speed boost and 180 turn feel like a 50/50 chance of pulling off though.

In all, I would only recommend renting it, but I wouldn't recommend it over other games such as Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, Motorstorm, Resistance, Ratchet and Clank, ect.

I got the game, and all I can say that the controls are HORRIBLE.

I think Gamespot summed it up best: "Lair is a beautiful disaster."

the problem with this game is the controls and the camera becomes very bad at some places

I HAVE THE GAME AND IT IS AMAZING

never played it
i was so hyped about this game but all the reviews put me off
looks like a visual feast tho

Consoles I own: Dreamcast, PSP

PLEASE DON'T BUY IT.

I made this mistake and really regret it. The controllers are horrible, framerate problems, glitches, everything you don't want.

There are many other good games to the ps3, stay away of this one.

Flow -"The important is to pwn other ppl"

The game is definitely not worth it. Avoid.

Here are my impressions of Lair: http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=11383

Definitely don't buy it. If you must play it, rent it or borrow it from a friend. There are so many more deserving games: Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty 4, Folklore, Unreal Tournament 3. Even PSN games are better.

There are 2 types of players
Thumbstickers who cant use motion (i laugh at you) and hate all games which use it.
People who like motion and can use it and like it.

There are 2 types of motion games
Some use motion well and implement it well i.e. motorstorm , flow, loco-roco, rub-a-dub,folklore etc.

Some games have motion but badly implement it due to programming flaws or plain bad design.

Not sure where Lair is in this it may be somewhere between the two.

When you look for an opinion on lair from anyone dont listen to the first type of people they cant use motion and allways dis it , ask someone who actually plays other motion games ie motorstorm for an opinion they are the ones who can give an unbiased view of which sort of game lair is.
