I think a giving system that is groundbreaking, , pioneers of glasses-less 3d entertainment,  one of a kind and can't be experienced no where else a 7.5   while giving a device that does everything a netbook does but worse and is expensive an 8.5 is a tad bit unfair.

you should post that in the IGN comments....Maybe they will listen. I know Scott Lowe (reviewer) reads most of the comments.

Also i think stating the battery life, at max settings, first is a bit misleading. As people rarely, if ever, play it that way. Its like reviewing a netbook and saying "the battery life is only 1hr" not saying  its while playing a movie and having virus scans and multiple background applications going on at the same time; with max brightness, speaker volume, wifi and bluethooth on. "Oh and its sometimes 7hrs when used normally."

@cyberninja45  1 is it even the same reviewer?? 2. maybe he found that the groundbreaking 3d wasnt all that. You dont just give free points just becaue it has something, it that something isnt all that then why should it get high marks???

To achieve glassesless 3d thats is aguably better than glasses 3d and relatively cheap and consumer friendly is not just "something".

except that the main reason to buy a 3ds is to...... play games in 3d. Netbooks are usually for casual web browsing or writing up a document. So that arguement is completly invalid. I'm fine with them giving it a 4 for longitivity but some of the other scores seem to low for the compliments. 7.5 is a great score if they followed guidelines when posting scores, but when you compare it to some of the other 7.5 reviewed products it makes it seem pretty mediocre.

Interesting, most reviews I've read have had it at about a 9.

@cyberninja45 it is just something if the 3D only works some of the time and working better than glasses 3D??? i somehow doubt that

Using it normally does mean with 3d off. If u play the 3ds with the lowest settings without 3d  u can actually get up to seven hours battery life with  3ds games. So i think the 4 hrs is normal usage( Say with 3d on most of the times, no wireless, mid-low brightness, headphone sound etc.)

Umm........ the 3d works all the time. Unless u are talking about some of the games, with is a devloper software problem that does count in a HARDWARE review.

Oh and actually the reason the 3ds seem better than glasses 3d is that it forces u to be in the perfect position when viewing. In glasses 3d when you watch it at any side angles u get a layer effect. But since u are in the correct position in the 3ds  u get the true illusion of watching true a window.
