Forums - Gaming - Name some of your most dissapointing games this gen!

final fantasy 13, that piece of garbage

Around the Network

MadWorld - Being developed by Platinum I really expected this game to be atleast decent. Oh how wrong I was...It feels repetitive after 30minutes and I just couldn't finish it even though it's a quite short game...How this game could come from the ones that made Bayonetta and Okami is a damn mystery.

Tales of Symphonia 2 - I really liked Tales of Symphonia on the Gamecube so of course I was excited about the sequel. Unfortunately the sequel's lead was a whiny...whiner! Yeah! Some people complain about Squall or Samus(M:oM) among others being whiny or weak or just annoying but Emil is just on a completely different level. His level of annoyingness is almost fascinating. You could probably make a documentary about it. What also annoyed the heck out of me was that you couldn't level up with the classic ToS characters...ARGHHH!!!

ToS2 did have a faster battle system but that wasn't enough to save it. Bleh.

I didn't actually expect a whole lot from MadWorld, and only paid £3.87 for it, but it was still a dissapointment.

Sim City Creator was also dissapointing due to some unusual control/menu decisions.

Bomberman Blast is awful too, I suspect I just don't like bomberman games in general though (it was my first) as I have heard bomberman fans like it.

Super Smash Bros Brawl - for me it was pretty much impossible to live up to Melee, and it did not. The controls just weren't as tight i thought and online was awwwful. And lighting mode wasn't as good in Brawl as it was in Melee and that mode is basically all i ever played in Melee.

Kirby's Epic Yarn - It got pretty solid reviews, and I know some people use the word "kiddy" around this game and I usually don't care about that, but Kirby's: EY was just a bit too kiddy for me. It was very simple and there's was no real reason to collect any of the gems in the game. There was no penalty for dying or really no dying at all. It was the same thing every level..run through the level..if something hits you, it's not a big deal so u just keep pressing on. It just got real boring after a while.

Gears of War 2 - basically the same scenario as Smash Bros Brawl. I LOVED gears 1 and i could not wait for the second one, but it just did not live up..the maps were mehh, the lancer was too powerful and the shotgun got toned down from the last game (shotguns and snipers were the best part of last game). There was way too many people just running around chainsawwing and lancering. And the stun-smoke grenandes were just annoying.

all i can think of now, but there are def more.

I forgot Soul Calibur IV as well, it's an improvement on III (though that doesn't say much), but doesn't live up to my love of II or I

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong

Lair: Great concept, great artwork, but a faulty execution. I can't see how they thought the game was good enough to release and I'm guessing that if it was given a few more months and a firm hand by an experienced publisher, then it'd be a much different game.

Mass Effect: Bought my 360 for Mass Effect and I hated it. When your game barely runs and has gameplay thats outclassed by Operation Winback, then your game shouldn't be released.

Fable III: Ugh. I loved Fable II and was hoping that Fable 3 would go through some huge evolution that so many sequels have gone through this generation, but it didn't and it actually became worse.

Dragon Age 2: Similar reasons to Fable 3.

Assassins Creed: The first few hours were amazing, then next few were frustrating and mind bendingly boring.

Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom: Loved the PSP game, thought it was so cool that a PS3 version was being made. Little did I know, they decided to directly recreate the PSP game on consoles, which isn't cool when you have so much more resources available.

I probably have more, but nothing else seems to be popping up. To counter these disappoints, I've also had many surprises like Alan Wake, Uncharted 1, Enslaved, Nier and Metro 2033.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

My personal top 3:

1. Spore - Had such high expectations for this, but it ended up being so lame. All teh stages were shallow, and the one that was the longest was simply the most boring one of them all.

2. Assassin's Creed - Starts off great, but then becomes terribly repetitive. Gorra play AC 2 and Brotherhood, as I heard they're actually really good.

3. Scribblenauts - You really couldn't do as much you'd expect. Many of the puzzles could be solved easily. The game didn't really give you any reasons to be creative. I enjoyed it's sequel more.

"I don't understand how someone could like Tolstoy and Dostoyevsky, but not like Twilight!!!"

"Last book I read was Brokeback Mountain, I just don't have the patience for them unless it's softcore porn."

i fought AC1 was the best of them all simple because the Story was the better of the 3 and enjoyed trying to sneak attact every target. But yes AC2 is better if you want an completely ass story but remove that pile of dooty and its really solid.
