For all of you who were planning on picking up last gen titles, I'd suggest doing so now. Gamestops in my local area at least are liquidating their Xbox and Gamecube libraries and half of their PS2 library. Don't expect to see any Gamecube or Xbox games this next year.

Also I'm not sure if this is a standard nationwide but they've begun putting the price stickers underneath the plastic sleaves of the game cases on the paper jacket which basically makes it unremovable so I hope none of you are collectors.

Meh. The store I go to has both old & new games, so I'm not worried.

I stopped there today and Smash Bros was selling for $35. I swear I've seen it cheaper brand new at best buy.

I think I'll just stick to ebay. I really need to get another copy, since I gave my old copy to my GF.

Hm, I just got MGS2 there two days ago. Good price on it too, (5 bucks) but now that I think about it, I don't think there was even a GameCube section... Can't say for sure because I was looking specifically for a PS2 game though. My memory is very selective.

I noticed that too at my local Gamestop. The price under the plastic is not that difficult to remove. I purchased a few old games and was able to remove the sticker under the plastic easely. Right now where I live they have used old gen games by two, get two free.

Last time I went to Gamestop, the GC stand had already been brutally ransacked. They had about 30% of the used games that they used to have. I didn't notice any special pricing so I suspect that it's just a holiday rush. Stocks of PS2 and Xbox used games were about 70% of normal.

Wii sales have been good to GC used games, methinks.

I just bought Smash Bros. Melee at TRU for 29.99 brand new.

Unfortunately, very few games you can get from somewhere like GameStop are in good enough condition for a collector's collection. And price tags from anywhere that don't peel off cleanly are uber-annoying.
