No, it's turn based like it, but you control real provinces and move armies and build structures in each region. So, it has no tiles (or rather, every tile is a province). And if I remember correctly, it has no technology tree
Plus, when a battle happens you can control your units and it plays more like an RTS

I think Shogun 2 has some kind of a tech tree. |
Hmmm...could be, I haven't played a TW since Empire so I don't know about that...it's been so long that I don't even remember how you got access to more advanced buildings and units in the old games...

Already have this game
, though the AI isn't like they said but i agree about the crashes, but that can be fixed easily with updates.
A 9? a 9? It is the best game ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Seriously 10 hours in the last 2 days, everything is brilliant. It looks good, sounds good, plays good and lasts good....
It is better than Rome Total War and that is the best compliment that I can give to a PC game. The only way it could be better would be if there was a larger scale, I still want my total war game with the whole world, but on the other hand, I prefer swords and stuff, as opposed to guns
So maybe make a non-historical one? Or a LotR one (not just Third Age Total War), but then I feel you might lose something from the series, so this is pretty much as good as it will get

Or Rome 2! ;) |
Well I am hoping that is next year, but what is so good is the way it seems like it was designed for the Japanese culture, so hopefully Rome 2 will submerge you in the culture more that Rome 1 did

Yeah, that would be awesome |
I rather them create an Invasion type total war where when conquering an nation you dont just send your amies to the capital and siege battle for control you have to invade that nation. When invading you set up frontlines and must keep supply lines intact and direct your armies by using invasion tactics, and really improve how you invade other nations is the next evolution in the series.
Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong
