Chrono Trigger has my favorite soundtack.

You know what it is! Endgame FTW!

Too many for me to remember right now, but like many have said already:  Koji Kondo's arrangements, many Square games (particularly FF 6 and Chrono Trigger), Metroid Prime and almost anything from any Zelda.

I also really liked a lot of the Genesis soundtracks such as Revenge of Shinobi and Streets of Rage (Yuzo Koshiro) and especially Thunder Force 3 and MUSHA.
