@lordtheknight  i hear, i def. agree on the Amazon.com part. They are the ONLY user reviews that i take seriously, not just games, music, movies, all of it. There the only site that does not seem to be overrun by fanboys

Unless someone goes on Fox News and trashes a game they haven't played.

I am down for your cause.  Even though it is a worthless cause (since most young generation gamers love to bring up metacritic ranking, etc...)  I will stand behind you 100%.  I always try to never let reviews influence me on buying or not buying a game.  I watch videos of actual gameplay (not commercials of cinematics of the game), read the reviews, etc... before I make my decision.  Shit with Nintendo I don't even have to check reviews.  I pick up one of their games and I know for sure it will satisfy my gaming needs...  Once Nintendo releases a shitty platform game then let me know.

what i dont get is why people believe there opinion and that if they say its bad then its bad, its good then it good. They are suppose to help make your decision on whether or not to buy the game by first and ut most importance in relieving its problems; an broken unplayable game isn't an game worth buying. Then it content: is it worth its full price or is it an rental or an sales game. Then you have how it plays so you can make the decision on do you like that. How i read reviews is i disreguard all personal opinion because me and reviewer in majority of the time have different tastes for gaming and if he doesn't like the game that doesn't mean i wont.

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong

Were all individuals...scores, critics or even gamers themeselves dont necassarly matter.... the other day my little brother was checking out games and he overlooked Star Wars Unleashed demo because of the user base score (which ws rated 3 stars, if I remmeber correctly) ... I told him try it out who knows you might like it. He did and he really liked it. Then I told him,"I told you... look the best that score will tell you is that based on popularity your less or more likely to like it IF your taste is like the average gamer."

Also graphics... my little brother said the graphics on Wolverine Origins: Uncaged Edition were bad... and I told him whaaat how are they bad (seriously why do people care about graphics IN THIS GEN, they are too good for goodness sakes we used to play with block like people back in the day, how can anyone not be satisified with graphics???  HOW?) so he wanted to overlook it because of graphics and again I told him, try it out.. actually a lot of people liked that game. I tried it and its pretty cool. He did and guess what... yeah he liked it. I only hope he learned something those days.

Don't judge a game by it's score and don't judge a game by it's graphics.

All gaming systems, consoles/PC, have thier perks... why fight over preferences? I like Coke and you like Pepsi, that's it, let's not fight over which toy we like best cause that's what they are. Is someone's preference in a toy important or is the relationship between you and your neighbor more important? Answer is obvious, but THE most important thing is your relationship with God almighty. God Bless you in Jesus's name.

I can communicate without talking... I can send a loved one money without actually sending money... and I can commit theft without the product disappearing, the point of theft is the point of theft not one of it's possible symptoms which is the product dissappearing. The thief wants to gain something without paying for it, that's the point of theft, the thief doesn't have to care or anybody else has to care if the product dissappears. The product dissappearing is just a possible symptom of theft. Gifts are sacrfices, in order to give a gift, it has to be a genuine sacrfice/gift, meaning a copy of the game isn't still in your PC. Piracy is theft and/or being a culprit of theft.

I advocate this on all the sites I am a part of

Play the games you want to play

http://gamrfeed.vgchartz.com/story/84770/thq-stock-sinks-due-to-poor-critical-review-of-homefront/

"THQ's stock fell 12% due to poor critical review (of Homefront)."

"A score of 80 is considered to be the minimum required for a 'triple A' first person shooter's commercial success."

"That hasn't stopped many of the gamers from buying Homefront. The game is the number one selling on Amazon right now. Pre-orders have had Homefront on Amazon's top spot for 28 days straight."

So these people certainly think reviews matter more than sales. I usually don't like to call people on their opinions, but I can call them on faulty assumptions, and these people are being damn stupid.

It's still too early to tell the sales, but if it sells well, that will just make those stockholders look foolish.

I find myself reading reviews less and less.  Most of the time it is only after I have played the game.  I get most of my gaming recommendations from users around here, or I just buy what looks interesting to me.

i buy whatever i want, but i'm also sick of forum goers who talk with bias for Nintendo (or sony or MS) and tell me what i should buy. so i'm NOT in , seriously you want us to buy Epic Mickey over Heavy Rain ?

imagine or a moment that HR is not on PS3 and Epic Mickey is a PS3 game, i bet that would make Epic Mickey all the "Ewwwwweewwewew not a Nintendo game" , seriously if you are trying to make people be less biased, you should look at yourself first, and if you are really meant what you said, i bet you'd own a lot of PC games already because most of these games are often given lower scores even thought they're some of the best games around.

^^^ i agree with your first point. I a Ninty fanatic mad at me because i didnt buy DKCR, but you lost me on your second paragraph.  admitidly i am one of those " why no one bought this game" types
