I still puzzled why a senior member of the team here, who actually helps with the numbers (I think), has a gut geeling that his own numbers are wrong?  very odd indeed.

Because the numbers are estimations that can be, and have been "wrong" on many occasions.

Personally I agree with Kowen. I just don't get how you can have that big of a gut feeling that the numbers you have are wrong (I said big, because the gap between 360 numbers stated and the other two consoles, was somewhat large). Even random educated guesses for this month provided by Pachter pointed clearly to the 360.

Great 360 numbers... waiting now PS3 and Wii numbers.

Kowenicki alot of my job is arguing with Brett. We disagree quite a bit actually.

To sound nicer? No.

Neither VGChartz or NPD are 100% accurate, so neither is 100% right or wrong.

While I myself do say from time to time that so and so is undertracked, it's only when comparing to NPD numbers. They aren't really under or over tracked if they come within the margin of error that is said to be + /- 10%.

educated and informed estimations should be similar.... and they usually are when we are talking about VGC and NPD.

for NPD to show PS3 or Wii over 360 would invove one or the other showing a massive alternate reading of the market.
