The thing with a title like Final Fantasy VI (SNES) that was not released in Europe is that the majority of people interested in it already bought or at least played the PS1 or GBA version (which wasn't released all that long ago, if you remember). In other words, this isn't a game that sparks excitement like a Super Mario RPG, because it's readily available already and in a better form too.

The PS1 version is terrible and the GBA version has reduced quality in sound and a lowered resolution.

You guys should totally get AIM, or at least we should get an IRC channel

Awesome, this means the US should get it soon as well.

 

Now we just need Chrono Trigger and Evermore and all the worthwhile (english) Squaresoft games will be on VC.  Enix on the other hand... they've got a long way to go. :/

Yup, the PS1 version is awful, but the GBA version was good enough to be bought by people who had been waiting for that game to finally come to Europe in an acceptable form.

We really do need an IRC channel or preferably a VGC update that brings the IM chat back.

Never played PS1 version what is wrong with it?

Yes! I wondered why they hadn't got this game on VC. I will definetly get this, it's one of he few final fantasys I havn't played and it's supposed to be one of the best.

Anway I came when I heard this news, I've got it on the GBA, but I'll play it again.  On Smeags' top 50 games thread, FFVI came 2nd which really shows how much I love this game, best FF and best RPG of all time IMO.  I love the VC and the Hanobi festival is my favourite part of the Virtual Console.

Another gem for the VC

It depresses me that Nintendos download service doest get the exposure it deserves. If this was a XBLA/PSN release you wouldn’t be able to avoid knowing about it.

Ill definitely pick this up soon. I’m from the UK so I never got to play FF until VII. I’m currently playing IV on my US SNES in all its original glory (you spoony bard!). Ebay prices have prevented me getting VI so I’m more than happy to pay the 900pts
