Oh I wouldn't know where to begin haha. But your predictiosn seem about right.

2.1 bln is too optimistic... i'd say about 1.5 bln. huge disappointment if below 1 bln.

800 mln loss is way to pessimistic. remember last quarter's result is tempered by the huge 400 mln write down, and this is the x'mas quarter. ~200 mln i'd say.

a small profit for microsoft. 200-300 mln seem about right.

i'd love to have some analysis to back up what i say but i'm too lazy.

Remember that the PS3 is still loss leading, so the fact they sold hell of a alot more this quarter actually means they will lose more money than last quarter.

Although, it might might not also if they reduced cost enough on the 40 gig and the PS2 and PSP profits cover the losses. So its all just guesses I suppose.

eugene i agree sony has sold more ps3's which will mean more losses. its games dont sell enough to make the difference up. it needs to sell more consoles but it especially needs to sell more games to make up for the losses its making on the console and we arent seeing that.

microsoft wont do as well as last quarter as it wont have halo to fall back on(am i right and halo came out last 1/4) but it will do enough to break even.

nintendo should make a money making machine as this is the only way to improve its bottom line(or increase wii console availability which has its own perils)

But Halo 3 only accounted for the first 5 days of its launch and about 3 million sales for the quarter. It sold about another 3 million this quarter + all the other great holiday sales they benefited from. I dont think I need to name all the games that sold extremely well this quarter for them.

Sony's losses would only rise if they increase production this quarter. Most of what's sold now has probably already been produced before so I say that Sony's losses won't be rising.

Microsoft will be lucky to break even, but let's just wait for the reports. They are still one month off!

Sony never increased production so how can an increase in losses occur? They've sold more consoles and more software this quarter, so I expect lower losses than last quarter which was around 800 million.

Id say operating losses of 300 million or there abouts.
