Oooo, I like me some Co-op... But this article was written last year. Do we have any latest news about it, like if it's removed or not? I wouldn't like to be hyped up by something, just to realize they removed some features a few months earlier before the release.

It still has co-op, but I did read some very disappointing news on it. You can join others people's games online, but you will be a lackey in their game. You won't be able to carry over any of the experience and treasures you receive from their game into your own.

I haven't read about the local co-op, but I assume you would be unaffected by this loot & experience limitation with local saves.

Edit: Actually I take that back! Just found this article following up what I said above. You do get to keep experience and loot online for your dedicated co-op character only. So you just can't take that character into your single player.

double post. Post edited above

Scat, forget what those people are telling you. Party based modern Western RPGs apart from Dragon Age, there are none, at least not in the style of DA.

(Torchlight and Magicka may be good in their own way but theyre very different from Dragon Age.)

Never played it, but as far as I know the most recent D&D/Forgotten Realms game is Neverwinter Nights 2.

The game and its two expansion packs are available as NWN2 Platinum on Steam.

Damn, so the dungeon siege series doesn't follow the party system?

I still appreciate everyone making some reccomendations, I'll check them out on Steam and see if they fit what I am looking for.

I think you should take a look at GOG.com, there might be some old RPG you didn't play:

BG1&2, Icewind Dale 1&2, Planescape, etc are all there too

the words above were backed by NUCLEAR WEAPONS!

Ooo, some people might be turned off by that, but I like a dedicated single player save, and a dedicated multiplayer save. I'll be picking this up, but now I have to convince my cousin to do it as well...

There does happen to be a game called "Fallout: New Vegas". I believe it is a sequel to another WRPG called "Fallout 3".

I'm not familiar with the party system in Baldur's Gate (I've been meaning to play it for ages though), I'll just copy and paste my 'essential RPG list' I posted in another thread a while back.

What I consider the essential RPGs

Final Fantasies IV - IX

Dragon Quests V - IX

Tales of Symphonia

Skies of Arcadia

Chrono Trigger and Cross

Xenogears

All Ogre (Ogre Battle/Tactics Ogre)

Both 'true' Paper Marios

Suikoden I and II (I haven't played the PS2 ones)

Grandia

The Soul Blazer trilogy

Shining Force II

All 3 Final Fantasy Tactics

All Main line Pokemon RPGs

All 3 Golden Suns

Secret of Mana

The World Ends With You

Star Ocean I and II

You missed Front Mission 1-3.

but I think he wont's a WRPG and not one game SNES or PS1

Japanese Pop Culture Otaku

you are probably going to say I'm an idiot for suggesting this...but why not give DA2 a go? All reviews that I have read (with one exception) have been extremely positive of the game despite the changes made.

If you remain open minded about the game then I'm sure there is some fun to be had. However, your choice...plenty of other recommedations in this thread.
