When people rip the cards out of those books, they count as damaged, which means we either have to return them to the publisher or sell them at a discounted price, which hurts our business in either case.

You're not actually hurting anyone's bottom line (except the guy buying these things for the sake of getting that slip of paper, I guess), but what does you being a thief have to do with whether or not I should react to people being thieves?
