I am thinking about if I should buy a 3DS or not when it comes out in America. I have not made up my mind yet so this thread will just be used as a future reference for me.

Anyway, I remember back when the Wii came out it was out of stock most of the time for nearly a year. Also, 360 and the Kinect was at a similar position back during Holiday 2010 and I am sure there are many other examples of this. So what about the 3DS?

How do you think stock will look for the 3DS? For Example: I make up my mind and want a 3DS during this Summer(June-Augest) will I be able to find one without having to pay big bucks on Ebay? What if I wanted to get one during Early April(Within the 1st 10 days)? Will I be able to find one during Week 2 or Week 3 of the 3DS launch?

The main question is...if I want a 3DS should I pre-Order it or should I be able to find one somewhere without pre-Ordering?

You seem to be having a lot of questions. Anyways I'm personally not sure what will happen. I'm pretty sure Nintendo did say they are shipping a limited number of units. So far walmart is sold out. But places like best buy, amazon, and gamestop still have some stock. Many casuals may not want to spend $250 around March- they would rather wait until the holidays. So I'm gonna say yes, the 3ds will not have many stock issues the holiday season.

i dont think the damand for 3DS will be nearly as high as the DS, both my mother and annt think its the same as a regular DS with just a higher price tag and 3D and i understand why, the 3DS ads started about 2 weeks ago and dont explain the its new hardware its just some guy walking towards to what looks like a DS and starts playing it
