Forums - Sales - GT5 Series Almost Surpasses GT4 Series

GT1: 10.85 million

GT2: 9.37 million

GT3 Concept: 16.45 million

GT4 Prologue: 12.59 million

GT5 Prologue: 11.57 million

^Now doesn't that make things much more exciting? By adding the prologues and concept games to each series it's looking like the GT5 series may come damn close to the GT3 series. Very interesting mmmmm.

wow seeing those pokemon characters under ur post gives me good memories

I trust no one, not even myself.

AWESOME!

Yeah the GT5 series should be close to the GT3 series all said and done.

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Interesting but I'm more interested in just the full game.

GT3 - 14.89m

GT - 10.85m

GT4 - 10.61m

GT2 - 9.37m

GT5 - 5.64m

GT5 still has 3.73m to go to not be the lowest selling GT game. That's a lot but I think it will do it. GT games have legs for days.

looking at that chart you seem to be saying that GT5 Prologue sold 11.5m.  Although reading the fine print clears this up it would have been better to use something like "GT5 Series" sold 11.5m...or something along those lines.

Wasn't GT3 called 'A-Spec'?

PD numbers as of December 2010:

GT4 11.19m

GT2 9.37m

GT5 6.37m

so, less than 3 millions since we are in March.

I guess what would make a major difference is the fact that GT5 prologue sold tremendously well in comparison with the other "prologues", the somewhat racing starved crowd brought it up before the actual game came out. I don't think that grouping all of those together is the best of comparisons due to different demographic and a much more succesful prologue, it's like adding ODST onto the Halo 3 sales, it does look flashy but at the end of the day, doesn't make much of a comparison.

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

Could it be that giving gamers such an awesome "demo" and then taking years to give the actual product made a lot of people buy and stick with the Prologue?  That's actually kind of interesting.

subtract that by around 500g! undertracked according to vgchartz remember!
