 never say never, cuz remember not to long ago people here didn't think the PS3 would surpass 5million let alone 6million, but despite the odds it'a now at 8.12million.

9 million seems reasonable... But i guess it'll get stuck at 8.8 something.

It however is a huge feat for Sony cuzz ~9 mil after a year on the market ain't that bad at all! Better then Cube or Xbox if i recall correctly... So it's not all doom and gloom for the PS3... Me myself was expecting around 6 mil for the PS3 back in the summer so it's hardware sales are quite healthy. Software ain't keeping up all across the board but hey, you've gotta start somewhere.

7.75 + .350 = 8.10 and it is already 8.12 million, so .02 million ahead of the target... So if u see it is still keeping the hope... and i think if the number keep getting adjusted, especially in Others adjustment is always pushing the PS3 number up... So there is a slim and doable chance for PS3 to hit the target... Only hindrance is America... if it can somehow start moving units in US then it will be pretty manageable... may be some day Sony ads will start showing some effect...

So it`s around 8,95 mln.? So unless vgchartz underestimated sales in usa and Japan won`t sell aditional 20-25k PS3 this week, ps3 won`be able to reach a psychological barrier of 9 mln. by 30-50k. =]
But well, that was close shot. =)

Though, previous week numbers were corrected by 20k.. so if these also will have increase by 20-30k.. Then.. there is still a possibility for PS3. =))

PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.

PS3 may reach 5 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 50k.

I think it's going to get close, but not quite. Remember that this week still has two days before Christmas worth of sales (Sunday, Monday), so it should still be a fairly decent week for all consoles.

Next week will be a desert though...

I say 8.7 - 8.75 is where it will be when the data comes in next week.
