We already have Gears 3, COD MW3 and Battlefield 3 scheduled for the same Fall-Holiday season. Halo would get slaughtered. Halo ODST then Reach and then Halo 1... a new halo every year, that's not good for preserving respect for the franchise.

Why would Halo be the one to be slaughtered? The most likely one would be Battlefield 3....and i'm down with a yearly Halo Release.

Seriously though a Halo remake makes sense.

No. I think interest in Halo has peaked. With yearly iterations it's gonna get even more hate now. I see 6 million for Halo remake tops. 4.5 million if it comes out this season.

And BF3 will be absolutely HUGE. Seriously, it will challenge MW3 in sales and easily sell over 10 million on consoles.

Its a Halo remake though so everyone who likes Halo will pretty much think this is a must buy.

And for BF3 to challenge MW3 it will have to sell 20 million on consoles which is pretty unrealistic seeing as a lot of BF lovers will most likely be getting it on the PC.

I do agree with you that BF3 will be pretty huge but just don't expect it to pull off COD numbers or anywhere close.

What if BF3 surprises everyone and sells 12 million on consoles and COD starts slumping and only ("only") sells 16 million?

I guarantee you that COD will get its first backlash this season while BF 3 will get all the hype, all the respect, huge marketing and amazing reviews. They will be close in sales.

I hope Halo still has selling power, I just think they risk too much by putting it out against these 3 giants.

All be the first one to agree that BF3 will take away some of the glory COD has this year, but even has much as I hate to say this it still wont get close to COD numbers. All be contributing to BF3.

Gear 3 releases in September so(If there is a remake) neither Halo or Gears will really take away from each others sales.

I'm not saying a Halo remake will sell as well as Reach or Halo 3, but it should easily get 8 million lifetime maybe more. I've asked a few friends of mine if they would buy a Halo remake and the majority of the responses was "Hell Yes!"

Well if the Halo remake comes out this year that will probably win most of my time.

They cant release Halo in the same season as Gears though. At least I don't think they will.

Why would Halo get slaughtered?? It's FREAKING HALO.  Kinda reminds me when everyone thought Halo: Reach wouldn't sell that well and wouldn't move consoles, but look at it now. It's on pace to outsell Halo 3.

If there is one thing I have learned and that is to not underestimate the selling power of Halo. Plus it's a remake of the best Halo.

It's Halo but even Halo can start slumping.

Has it though? no

Strangely (if I may say so) it hasn't. I see the hate on the internet but the sales are still the same.

Wasnt there a report though that Halo Reach is nowhere near as popular as Halo 3 was online? And it got crushed by Black Ops too in online activity.

That is true. The numbers for Halo Reach are not as popular as Halo 3(Still great though), but I believe that has more to do with COD than anything.

Yeah Halo Reach gets stomped on compared to what Halo 3 was doing in the same time frame.

Do you remember when COD was 3 million selling franchise and all of a sudden it went to 14 million (MW)?

Battlefield could break out and be huge and now is the time. On all forums, on all the internet everyone is praising Battlefield 3 while everyone is hating COD. Not saying that atmosphere will be entirely reflected in sales, but there's so many signs that these two franchises will go head on against each other in a gigantic battle.

And speaking of anecdotal evidence, when I ask my friend who is a casual gamer and who persuaded me into buying MW2 (lol) he's only talking about BF3 now. COD is yesterday's news for him.

is it just me or do the guns sound pathetic other then that Great
