looks lke they all want to go for online stuff in a big way

I am surprised at the optimism on price.

NGP really is turning out to be a developers system....if the price is right, marketing and so on it could be bigger than PSP.

I think the only problem I see is that the price, as a company, you still want either a good margin, or at most a small margin of loss, and at the same time, you want consumers willing enough to buy this. (Not just the hardcore....which are famitsu readers).

Hopefully Sony finds a balance between the two, I will pick this device up, most likely after one or two full years...(I do this with every sony console).

I think price won't be so astronomical - there already are two SoC systems planned for 2011 release with quad core arm A9 cpus ang Gpus as powerfull or faster than what NGP will have.

What SoCs are those?

shocking since Its Famitsu, a russian magazine.

I could read developers comments for NGP the hole day long! they have very interesting things to say! great!

I really don't see 3G data being a big hit outside of Japan.

I know I would never want to pay a monthly subscription price for 5G or 10G of data just for my portable game system. Nice idea, but to me, its very impracticable.

Not to mention that 3G speeds are generally quite slow as compared to typical wifi n and as such would affect online play for many PS3 gaming experiences.

Additionally, I will eat my own hat if the NGP is priced at 25,000Y. I'm expecting at least 35,000Y.

Overall, its nice to see devs excited with the potential. It means we'll see good games. Hopefully not just cookie cutters from the PS360. That uniqueness is why Nintendo's handhelds do so well. They don't just copy home console games.

Are there many ports on the 3DS announced (and on the DS before)? yes. However, are those the games that push the system and create the real buzz? No of course not. Its the numerous unique games only on the DS and what will be on the 3DS that create that system selling power. Games like Pokemon, Brain Age, unique Zeldas, upcoming sure to be hits like AR games and Kid Icarus.

your statement was rather generalized hence my gripe with it. 3ds has a shitload of ports this time around. No doubt that ninty has some high selling games that are unique to their handhelds. Doesn't mean PSP didn't have them too tho. It did, it had many. It's just that they didn't have the same level of success in sales. But that's a whole different topic which needs a new thread, so let's leave it for now

NGP 'imo' has the potential to do more with the HW. and I'm not talking about power alone. It has brought more in terms of new gameplay mechanics with it. so hopefully devs will utilize them, the Uncharted demo looked like they are doing just that. So here's hoping it keeps up in other new Ip's like Gravity Daze as well. Time will tell

I agree, I hope NGP doesn't get filled up with downgraded PS3 ports like PSP got for PS2 games and so on.

But with Nintendo DS had more of an opportunity to have those unique games due to its interface.

Now with the NGP having touch screen on the back and so on I'm sure we'll see more of those titles come up, devs have the opportunity to make unique games for it that won't be replica's of PS3/PS2 titles. Devs on the PSP didn't have the chance to make these new experiences as in effect a PSP was a powerful gameboy with a few more buttons. Even then it got some innovative titles like Locoroco and more. Lets hope devs will try to innovate here!

With the back touch panel, I definitely agree there is a new angle, however is that mitigated with AR concept utilizing the 3D camera and the 3D in itself on the 3DS and front camera w/ 3D for head tracking?

I think both offer plenty of new gaming ideas and a solid foundation of power. I just didn't see much of anything on the PSP that was unique. All I ever read about or saw were either direct ports or a new level to an existing game/franchise.

However, not owning one, I could very well be wrong. In the end, all I wanted to say was that I hope it gets plenty of unique content to go with its unique interface.
