If the only thing stopping you is the NGP, then go for the 3DS.

If there's other problems, wait. Youdon't want to jump into a $250 investment that you are unsure of.

Though I disagree with your mom, I will get the black one.

I'd buy Super Street Fighters IV as first game, if I liked the genre. It looks great (I love the art style) and seems to be an excellent game. Unfortunately I don't like fighters, but maybe you?

If none of the launch and early titles interest you enough I recommend to use the 3DS just for Pokémon Black/White until Zelda OOT, Paper Mario or some other 3DS games you really want are released.

Exactly. I doubt that the NGP will be out in the west this year, and even if Sony rushes it, stock will probably be bare-bones. So IMO if you can afford it, go with the 3DS

Price is not exactly an issue for me. If i wanted i could get the ipad 2 but i think 3ds may be a better buy

Then I say go for it. Even if the launch period doesn't seem appealing, Zelda, Starfox, and Mario Kart are guarenteed for 2011, and not to mention the other games beyond that.

This list from Gamestop means nothing.

All these games will be released on the second half of this year, not before E3.

And there is a good chance that two, or at least one, of them will be released only next year(i would guess Mario kart and Paper Mario).

Not to mention that all but Kid Icarus are pretty much straight N64 ports/remakes and available on Wii VC for much cheaper.

I am getting a 3DS myself but I dislike the fact that it has too many of these to start out. It is very much like PSP when it started out.

Also he is worried about Pokemon and Black/White are regular DS titles and coming out next Sunday.
