The only difference between DVD and blu-ray is a different type of light reading the disk (a blue beam instead of red).

The talk of difference between the PS3 and 360 is up for debate (though each has striking advantages), but the difference between DVD & Blu-ray is substantial. Disc space for starters.

You know how Blu-Ray has more disk space? Blu-Ray systems read the data 5 times faster, so you can fit 5x as much data into the same space on a DVD. The disk is nearly the same with all optic properites. You know it's just a peice of glass bounded with plastic right?

If you somehow think the difference between Blu-ray and DVD is small, you would have it wrong. The differences go beyond the material they are used with. Just listen to any dev, the differences aren't small.

I could care less about the differences, one advantage blu-ray has over DVD is the scratch-free surface which I really care about.

Horrible Wii sales....... dang those are horrible numbers.... everything looks bad in the future...

And just when I wanted PSP to go sub-0, Sony decides to cut the price a day after 3DS. :/

XBOX Just Got Killzowned

LOL Just kidding. Good numbers for both HD consoles.

is that mean Killzone never catch up HALO?

not yet....

No it's a representation of the people who play Killzone and Halo. Halo is mostly little kids, and Killzone is people who have a copy of GT5 as well, Still the damn little kid can outrun that Subaru.

I was thinking of something similar. The Japanese car is technology (PS3's touted better graphics/Blu-Ray) and guy on foot is the primitive mode of transport, no tech here besides a pair of kicks (an American pair of Chuck Taylors) represents Xbox/Halo. Primitive Halo man wins this race.

Wow, that I think was just a burn towards the 360. I don't think the tech difference between the two is that different. The only difference between DVD and blu-ray is a different type of light reading the disk (a blue beam instead of red).

REALLY......that's the ONLY difference lol

Nvm, you always want to argue don't you? My initial comment was about the picture about a Hellgast chasing Master Cheif in a Subaru. The difference isn't so big where the PS3 is a car, and the 360 is a pair of sneakers. There is a difference, of course, but generally the level of tech in both consoles is about the same.

Top spec PC compared to consoles, theres a significant difference. Why do you think Crysis takes place in a blocky city instead of a forst full of foliage? Neither PS3 nor 360 can handle Crysis graphics, even at half max.

The difference isn't really that substantial. One plays Blu-Ray, the other doesn't. It's not the same as a Rally car vs. a pair of worn out sneakers. Shoes don't even have an on/off button... or lights, or a motherboard, or anything...

None of that changes the [fact] that Blu-ray and DVD are the equivalent of night and day.

For HD movies, this is completly true.

Wowzers! After some time, PS3 pwnz WW again by a whisker, on top of a testicular pie!

Wii avoids a defeat, and, overall, very nice week for everybody in America and nice WW too. Very good LBP2 WW: like with GT5, only a meh Japan prevents it from becoming excellent. Despite Wii growing in America and WW this week, Kinect beats Balance Board in America, EMEAA and WW, kicking it out of the Top 10. BTW this week in Japan, despite still beating Kinect, Balance Board is even out of the Top 20.

TGS, Third Grade Shooter: brand new genre invented by Kevin Butler exclusively for Natal WiiToo Kinect. PEW! PEW-PEW-PEW!

It is for gaming as well. System specs are irrelevant to what I'm saying.

I dunno, there are pro's and cons, it's not as big here. Outside a few multi-disk RPG's Blu-Ray isn't very beneficial. Multi-platform titles look about the same, and PS3's exclusives don't look that much better then the few graphically pushing 360 exclusives. Besides, load times on PS3 games, and some games forcing instalation. Meh..

I'm not going to debate your opinion though, think what you like.

Why oh why do western developers even bother...

LBP2 is VERY disappointing in Japan.  LBP was bad (66k after 2 weeks) but LBP2 is terrible (31k after 2 weeks).

Their loss.

Call of Duty does pretty good numbers in Japan considering!

I wouldnt call 3% of global sales (PS3 version) and 1.6% of global sales (360 and PS3 combined) "pretty good"....

3 % of 10mil is worth it
