Fully agreed. Capital punishment, castration, etc., in this case is nothing but people wanting to seek revenge for something that doesn't even affect them personally. I also agree with Rath, the reactions to this are more disturbing to me than the story itself.
As far as can be told from the story, the man did nothing violent. What he did was completely despicable, but the girl is going to be OK. He didn't rape her, he didn't force her to do anything sexual. He took some pictures. Horrible, ghastly, whatever adjective you want to use, and he should absolutely go to prison and be committed to psychiatric treatment, but we don't need to kill him or put him away for life.
I would add that when he gets out, he should not be allowed to come within 100 miles of his family or be sent straight back to prison, unless they want to see him for whatever reason.
I've met many women who have been sexually assaulted by family (At ages as low as 4). Fathers, Step Fathers, Grandfathers, Cousins, whatever. It's not that uncommon and this isn't a particularly bad story. Its really wrong that it happens, and don't even get me started on the psychological impact of this shit.

Actually he only got 4 years, with parole in 10 because of time served already and such.
Apparently he has already had his ass kicked twice in jail, so hopefully they keep up that good work.

Justice should always, ALWAYS, be rational. Otherwise we would just have pure anarchy.
Yeah, if it was my daughter, I'd want the man dead. That's totally different. That's just revenge. And I'm sure the wife or family wants revenge of some kind...that doesn't mean we give it to them...that's not justice.
