Fully agreed. Capital punishment, castration, etc., in this case is nothing but people wanting to seek revenge for something that doesn't even affect them personally. I also agree with Rath, the reactions to this are more disturbing to me than the story itself.
As far as can be told from the story, the man did nothing violent. What he did was completely despicable, but the girl is going to be OK. He didn't rape her, he didn't force her to do anything sexual. He took some pictures. Horrible, ghastly, whatever adjective you want to use, and he should absolutely go to prison and be committed to psychiatric treatment, but we don't need to kill him or put him away for life.
I would add that when he gets out, he should not be allowed to come within 100 miles of his family or be sent straight back to prison, unless they want to see him for whatever reason.
