Gran Turismo 5 continues to prove it's doubters wrong. Very nice!

On the other hand, the numbers aren't as exciting outside of price cuts & holidays.

I'm more surprised aout Forza Motorsport 3. About half the sales of GT5 despite it being a year older, and a lesser known brand in EMEAA. GT5's release made a lot of comparisions between the two games and boosted Forza 3's sales noticably. I hope Forza 4 sells well in EMEAA.

Forza 3 boosted because it was bundled... GT5 done nothing.

ethomaz

do you dream GT5 at night 0_0

No I play it ;) @ like now I playing B-Spec remotely to gain cash and exp.

Because nothing, You act as if other games are never bundled and lets face it and for a 2009 game to sell this well into 2011 is damn good so give credit where it's due.

It seems the kinect fad has finnaly died   Kinect Adventures! legs are good there, dropped out of the top 10, and it seems that the US is the only place it still has good support.

You seem to be forgetting Kinect is at least 3 to 4 times the price of any of those game yet it sold 38,437 this week alone in EMEAA.

No I said GT5 had nothing to do with the sales boost of Forza 3.

Forza 3 sell good because it is a good game not because GT5... the Forza bundle increased the sales like GT3 bundle made it sell 15 million (it heavy bundled in America like Forza 3).

Even without GT5 Forza 3 should be selling the same.

GT5 not boosted Forza 3... people here act like Forza 3 is selling good because GT5 but I think Forza 3 deserve because it is a good game and sells well on its own.

Well to be fair I still laugh at people who call Wii Sports the best selling game ever.  It is indeed a good game which people obviously like, but if bundles are boosting it what's the big deal about saying it?

Good numbers, I think the HW spike in the UK can be attributed to the Tesco deal and the shitstorm that has ensued afterwards.

To put it in layman's terms. Tesco ran a 20% discount on ALL electrical goods, including PS3 and X360, and ALOT of competition went to match the price that they were offering - Blockbuster, Asda, Currys, PC world, Sainsburys etc. With the PS3 being so low due to discounts it's only logical people would purchase for upgrades or stash till later for resale, same for X360.

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

Also, Black Ops finally had a price drop in major retailers so those holding out likely gave in by now :), I think even gamestation, the stingiest gamestore in UK is selling it for £28, -£14 from it's original price. Amazon etc had about 30% discount too.

Only 4,000 units seperates 360 and PS3 in Europe.  Looks like Sony putting the focus on non-competitive markets is paying off, but it makes you wonder how much longer those areas will remain non-competitve.  There is a lot of market share up for grabs in middle east and asia and I can't see MS sitting on the sidelines this entire console cycle.

I think it'd be pointless for X360 to venture there. Those areas are getting their dose of PS2 loving, so most likely the Sony brand is the strongest in areas such as the middle east and other developing countries. If x360 ventures there it will most likely get slaugthered in sales, I'd say better concentrate on the modern markets such as France, Germany, Italy, Spain etc where at least it has a substantial chance of, if not winning but at least regaining some ground in EMEAA while Americas pulls heavy numbers.
