Nintendo back to underdog status.. Like the good ol' days of the late 90s/early 2000s. Funny, somehow I get a nice feeling of nostalgia despite being a Nintendo fan.

Wii is pretty much dead in Japan, but Japan is basically dead as a viable market for home consoles anyways..

3DS sales should be fun to watch next week..

Well enjoy it while it lasts, because 3DS is comin next week to bring about a swift return to the bad days. :P

I'm actually hoping for a gradual return to the bad days, with the PSP holding its own for a few months.  Then, I'm hoping for a massive return to the good ol' days.  ;)

Hmmm, I didn't notice anyone mention how amazingly Catherine has done for a new Atlus IP. Better than The Last Story, which shows where new IP, including new JRPG IP, really belongs in Japan.

Odd that no one picked up on these points after so many posts in this thread.

How long will PS3 stay above 20K? Are people who own Wii slowly deciding to get into HD gaming, and will this keep PS3 sales afloat for a while?

Also, Catherine sales are great, sad it outsold the last story, hopefully it'll do better WW...

Will check Amazon Japan at the end of this week to see how the game was received.


Catherine is not a jrpg its more of an puzzle game.

Thats even worse for TLS lol


Doesn't matter. They shouldn't be compared at all. Unless you like to compare apple and oranges. We all know the problem with NEW JRPG IPs selling in Japan.

I said its worse because i am pretty sure JRPG's are supposed to sell better than Puzzle games in Japan. Its like a new IP FPS getting beat by a new IP Puzzle game in America. It just begs the question "would TLS have sold more on ps3?".

It was just a hypothetical lol.  I've seen a few people say the same about LBP on Ninty consoles.  More funny to think about than anything else haha.
