Mere moments ago, some pretty big news hit the internet concerning the upcoming Epic Games title, Gears of War 3. The game has been scheduled for worldwide release on September 20.

Originally, there were plans for the game to be released in April, however, talks with Microsoft have resulted in the developer pushing back the game for a holiday launch. Hopefully, this extra time will allow Epic Games to make a few additions and improvements to the highly anticipated game.

In addition, the beta for Gears of War 3 will be available this spring, and will include team deathmatch along with the ability to play as the Locust faction.

Aaahhh, I am pretty much free all summer (holidays) apart from this week!

All I can say is at least it is not in November with all the other games, so it will give me a chance to play it through before I go back to uni without my Xbox... and I am not sure I can wait another 7 months for this game

Any big games from Sony that would merit that placement?  Gears of War is big enough to take any of them, but I was just wondering if it was strategic.

Forza, Star Wars Kinect are being released in November.

NYANKS# Resistance 3 is coming in early September and Rage(multiplattform) is releasing the week after GOW3.

Ah ok, Resistance then.  I kind of feel like there won't be too much of a big deal there, Gears is much bigger, ons is and fps instead of tps....cool. 

Will be fun to see how well Gears does.
