My seal of awesomeness

Inspired by a conversation with Smeags, I have decided to produce a thread as part of the awesome genre. 

What exactly is the awesome genre then? Well it's a mixture of the best games ever created. Not only that, but they are genre-busting, re-defining or the first of their kind. So what's in the awesome genre so far then eh?

Metroid Prime Trilogy (Wii)

Simply put, some of the greatest game ever created. Is it a Shooter? Adventure? Platformer? No, it's awesome

Cave Story (PC, WiiWare)

A cult classic, created by one man over the course of many, many years. Combining classic Mario, Zelda, Metroid etc., there's no other word to it, other than: Awesome

Monster Hunter Tri (Wii)

I've played this game for hundreds of hours, as have many, many others. However, there isn't a firm genre to put it in. Action? RPG? MMO? I dunno, it's just awesome.

Super Mario Galaxy (1 and 2, Wii)

Super Mario Galaxy is, to many, the greatest game of all time. Then Super Mario Galaxy 2 was better... but it completely re-defined what we call a platformer, it was colourful, light, fun, and awesome...

 

So those are the ones so far. What do you reckon? What games are good enough to join this elite list?

The seal of awesomeness would be such a cool name for a gourmet selection...

It is hard to chose, as this is so subjective. Anyway, for me the Mass Effect saga should be there. And so should Uncharted, Zelda and many others!

Go as far back as you like, I don't mind

I was gonna update with some classics (Original Mario, Pacman etc.), so I don't mind!

Nope, it's all in my opinion.

Which one are you talking about? All fit into that catergory, I have many, many others, but those are just a few to get things started!
