Between your comments and others', I'm amazed that user and critic opinions of this game differ by so much. By the critics, it seems this game is pretty average; but by virtually everyone in this thread I've heard discuss KZ3, the game is amazing in almost every aspect other than story substance.

I know many critics seemed to rip KZ3 apart for its campaign, and I found this really unfair. I played through MW and MW2 campaigns, and both were just okay, and often times plain boring imo - letalone the fact that MW2's campaign was what...5-6 hrs or something? So it seems that most other fps games have weak campaigns and get judged almost entirely by their multiplayer; yet, KZ3 is being significantly faulted for its campaign despite an excellent (and to some ppl unparalleled) multiplayer.

Anyone else confused and/or frustrated by this? Seems like there's a double standard. But again, I haven't played KZ3 yet. Although everyone's positive opinions of the game in this thread have made me decide I'm definitely renting it as soon as I get home on my break from school.

I find it hilarious how critics tore out KZ3 for a bad story but yet its story is about 1000x better than most FPS games.

I don't actually get many of the complaints about the story. I find it to be quite interesting (albeit not the best I've seen - but what's there is sufficient and better than MANY of the other stories out there). Still some of the edges are little rough, but with the amount of love and polish that's excruciatingly obvious in this game, I'm happy with the package Guerrilla has provided, as there isn't another console that's given quite this intense, graphically unrivaled, or relentless of an experience!

Given the multiplayer (which is fantastic), Move, 3D, & split-screen, I would give it an excellent 9.3/10!

My problem with the story is its pretty much non existant, even for a FPS its shallow.  For the first four levels here is the entire plot of the game.  Vissari is dead and now theres two highly powerful guys near the top who don't like each other.  They argue.  Now it flashes to the ISA guys and Rico is tough and a rebel and he don't follow orders.  Him and their field commander argue.  Then back to the two Helghast guys who argue some more, and then back to Rico who doesn't take orders and argues again and then start the next mission.  Its just incredibly shallowly told.  Like I said great setting, great potential, but the actual execution of the story isn't horrible per say as much as it just not there in the first place.

That being said the game is awesome and at this point its looking like a 9.0 to 9.1 to me.

Exactly why this will never be a "Halo Killer," sorry but seems pretty average in terms of gameplay and an incredibly weak story makes this about a 7.5 to me.

If you ask me the gameplay and story of the Killzone games (barring part 1) is better than the halo games.

I'll never understand the praise Halo receives for its story. Don't get me wrong, I prefer the story to those of Killzone, Resistance, and Call of Duty, but it's ludicrous how so many people applaud it.

Or maybe I've just been spoiled by Enslaved and MGS4.

He will never know.

Anyone know if KZ3 has local competetive multiplayer. Meaning I can play AGAINST a friend splitscreen.

Or if it has Botzone splitscreen

Seriously the story is so fucking engaging and epic, you really feel a part of it and you are interested.

Whilst in CoD, man.. Soap Mactavish, thats all i remember. oh and the last scenes, those you know... last stand stuff.. shooting bad guys..

WTF? Reviewers need to die.

LOL.

Got a great mate who read all the Halo books, played all the games and was like my nemesis in the whole console war shit. He got a PS3 just a week ago and now plays Killzone 3 along with Killzone 2 (his first game was MGS4, I told him to get it) and guess what? Never did I forsee this day coming!!:
Today at approximately 22.13 PM, when we both booted up Killzone 3 together :
Him: -Bro, im seriously considering to sell my 360. I just don't like the games anymore, I don't even subscribe to live nowadays.
Me: DO IT!! DO IT FOR GLOOORY!! Seriously though :D, do you even play reach?
Him: Nah im tired of Halo.. I do wish they made a Halo wars 2 though.

^That made my fanboy eyes cry of joy because its great to convert your best friend knowing he was the one who introduced me to this gaming world.
