This premium vs. Standard car thing is a you don't have as many little much, yeah you don't have as many premium...but you have 1000 for God's sake.  And do Forza's come out every two years? Seems a bit much no?

in two years they managed to make a more complete game then Polyphony digital could make in 5. I wish forza came out on the ps3. GT has so much more potential and I believe if it had actual competition on its system we would get a game as mindblowing as GT3 was when it came out.

True, PD'd efforts were much more focused on certain parts of the game, which showed.  Even "negative" reviews admitted that GT is the better pure simulator, which is the main goal for PD. This focus may have caused other less major oversights, enough to put Forza at an even level.  Its breadth of content also remains unparalleled, which cannot be ignored.  I'm sure they will fix these issues with 6.

GT doesn't have the license for Porsches, I believe. Also...they're mad because it doesn't have as many cars for people to fantasize about cars they'll never drive? I'd rather see how true to life my Honda Accord is in game than drive a Lamborghini I could never even hope to afford. In fact, Kazunori stated that he wanted to GT to have cars that the "average" consumer would own, in game, to see how it compared to others. He stated that a while ago, though

I'd rather drive a Lamborghini any day of the week over the car I own. Then again, I'd rather play a racing game than a simulator.

Can I extrapolate this to any other game that is a simulator? Forza (also for racing), Madden for football, NBA2K for basketball, MLB: The Show for baseball, etc. you'd rather play a game than a simulator? Then please define all these simulators since simulators apparently aren't games.

Also, duh, anyone would want to drive a Lamborghini over their typical car....in real life. But for the purpose that GT has, and even Forza, it's to see how true to life the car performances are. And I find even more entertainment out of seeing how my car stacks up to others. Maybe it's just me, but I like that little novelty

Title misunderstood because Car and Driver choice GT5 overall... and the tracks on Forza are bigger than real one.

In two years?

Here's the common sense:

Considering Forza 1 was as good or better than GT 4, both PD and Turn10 started the race to create a good racing sim (Forza 3 and GT5).

Are you trying to say that the improvement of GT 5 over GT 4 is less than that of Forza 3 over forza 2? Because if that is true, you are wrong.

Turn 10 decided to release their project as it is in the middle, devs just don't "take" a set of given time to make something, they utilise what they have done till that time and make it better like game engines, car models, tracks etc. That's what Turn 10 did and PD didn't. PD just kept on improving everything and not release it till they thought it was "perfect", which I don't think they did, and there might have been something between them and Sony because they immediately announced patches for this game after release.

At the end of the day they both accomplished something similar in the similar given set of time. If GT 5 had released in 2007 it would so visually stunning that Forza 2 would look like Dragon Age in front of it.
