Forums - Gaming - According to Car and Driver, Forza 3 offers more real-world tracks than GT5

i think this article is a load of BS written by fanboys and heres why.

on the website, in their own words they write "Forza 3 came out the winner in this showdown"

however the quote given of the 'expert auto enthusiasts' say "When it came time to choose an overall winner, Car and Driver gave the edge to GT5......."

then in the end they have a section in bold outlining all of forza's claimed advantages.

if forza has that many advantages over GT5 (in the opinion of the enthusiasts) surely they would have chosen it to be the 'overall winner'.

this leads me to believe they have selectively included/removed comments from the 'enthusiasts'.

Subjective article...

- I've played over 200 hours of GT5 and I've got to say, some standard models look as good as the premium ones, and some are rather messy.

- I can't drive with a wheel but I do great with sixaxis, I've golded all licenses and only need to gold 1 special event race. I think I would propably drive a car better with a sixaxis than a steering wheel tbh. :D

- I also enjoy the RPG-esque qualities of the game, it won't throw everything at you the moment you start. Which dramatically increases my game-time. I can see it as a problem though for an impatient player.

Can't say anything about Forza 3, since I haven't seen enough of F3 to compare. I love the car-painting though wish they had added that one to GT5

btw, how many tracks does forza have overall?

This is what I like about GT5. I also like the kart racing and Nascar events. They are truly amazing.

"Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth." -My good friend Mark Aurelius

i havent read all the article but the part about cars is complete bs. gt has more cars, ofcourse most are standard, but many great cars are you can find bugatis f1 cars, and many old classical cars. ofcourse it doesnt look good and doesnt have a cockpit view, but unless you'r a noob and you play on 3rd person view then you wont notice anything. other then their is variety, gt5 offers, nascar, f1, rally, karting, and their is the x1 protype. yes no car enthusiatic would want to drive the x1. and then their are the 3 20 million cars.

Being in 3rd place never felt so good

Or did they say that...

Its polish and flexibility make Forza Motorsport 3 the better choice.

I agree though the article posted here anyway is confusing,  one comment they claim GT5 has the edge the next FM3.

GT doesn't have the license for Porsches, I believe. Also...they're mad because it doesn't have as many cars for people to fantasize about cars they'll never drive? I'd rather see how true to life my Honda Accord is in game than drive a Lamborghini I could never even hope to afford. In fact, Kazunori stated that he wanted to GT to have cars that the "average" consumer would own, in game, to see how it compared to others. He stated that a while ago, though

I'd rather drive a Lamborghini any day of the week over the car I own. Then again, I'd rather play a racing game than a simulator.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

If the part about the tracks in Fortza 3 being modelled better than the ones in GT5 is true, it would be a surprise to me.

Also, controlers aside, how is the physics simulation between the two for god's sake.

Where is that insidesimracing.tv review and comparison already?

Well insidesimracing.tv look to be in favour of GT5 based on part 1, although they also have a bias towards FM3 as well but I still expect them to come all out for GT5 tbh.

sounds like just reasoning in their winner

Forza 3 has more car choices and more real life locations according to them

I have not played either so i can't comment on its validity, but for those reason i too would give forza 3 the crown.

Isn't the point of driving simulators to let you drive in as many fantasy cars as you can imagine in as many fantasy locations as you can imagine and also have a realistic driving controls, which they seemed near equal to almost ignore the driving gameplay part
