Tell me how this is circumventing a protection system? It's the front door, put there intentionally by Sony in order to publish content on the PS3. It plays by the rules of the protection.

It's a very sad day in gaming when modders are allowed to change the rules of a game only to their advantage, and the rest of the legit gaming community has to be penalized for playing by the rules.

I'm talking more of the larger scale. Anyone that knows anything about court can say they cite previous cases to make their case. If Sony were to win this(or just crush Geo under mountains of bills) then future companies can point at it and go. Look how Sony has the right do anything to their machines!

I will do nothing with it. Despite what many think I won't run emulators, cheat, or pirate games. I just want to be able to play newer games along with keeping OtherOS. I have a question for you? What does that have to do with your point? Now it just looks like you are trying to flame me...

Its the same argument I have against the smart phone industry. him winning doesn't affect me at all.  him losing though could affect me hugely.

all of a sudden it could be illegal for me to use my ps3 as a hat weight.  i can only use it for what sony says i can use it for.  

oh but wait doesn't sony say it does everythign?  nvm i can still use it as my hat weight.  i'm all good.

I can't believe how many ridiculous analogies people draw for this, though. Hacking is not the same as murder. Not as long as it's done without a sword, anyway.

So you want to do everything you can do right now on your PS3 minus the OtherOS. Did you even use otherOS? Are you a PS Phat owner or PS Slim owner? and are you aware that otherOS was taken away from the PS3 because Geohut found a way to use homebrew through otherOS? I'm not flaming, I'm just trying to understand what people mean by fighting for our rights and where they're situation is coming from.
