Forums - Sony - Will Killzone 3 have a way to turn off melee kills with excessive gore?

I had ended up being an unexpected fan of Killzone series after being a critic and being dragged into the hype, and then seeing a developer video and completing the game.  As a result of this, I was keeping an eye on Killzone 3.  Well, I was considering getting it sometime until... I saw they decided to do melee kills with excessive gore.  Call it a personal preference thing, but myself driving a knife into someone's eye and other brutal things like that, really just cause me to lose interest.  Call it a pet dislike, but it is there.  Now, if there is a way to turn off the excessive gore, I would be interested.

Anyone know if it will be possible to do that?

don't rush enemies and just don't do the melee attacks.

I find it strange that people would get turned off by knifing each other, but when it comes to using guns, all bets are off

It is making the effect of the kill excessive I find a turnoff. Is it ok if I don't want to drive a knife into someone's eyeball?  Or do you feel it is a necessity people actually ENJOY doing that?  Why should I avoid playing a game a certain way, just to avoid certain effects, when doing a melee attack may be essential?

I do have enough FPS titles, but ended up liking the storyline and world of Killzone.  Because of the quantity I own and can still play, I can afford to be picky.

here is a solution, don't melee while playing.

That's awesome.

If anything it's made me more excited about getting the game!

And, I don't think there will be any such option. KZ2 had no option to turn blood/gore off.

I guess you're not a fan of Gears?

Gears has a gore filter...
