If you want to install skype, guess what?

Install linux, the OS you want on your FUCKING PS3.

God these guys are pathetic.

Comparing a windows with a PS3 is the best thing you could do? There are many things windows doesn't allow me to do. Like pirate it for instance. I want to pirate it, I own the DVD, I own the DVD writer, and I own my PC, why can't I pirate the OS?

Simple question people, because I don't own the software. Custom firmware is actually a modified firmware or an OS over which he has no authority. 

The reason why Geo-hotz is in court is not because he hacked, but because he spread the hack. Spreading the hack was the thing responsible for piracy, and online problems on the PS3. Yes, MW has problems all the time, but it has increased and now the rumor goes that hackers can now ban other PS3 users indirectly. If this is true, there's nothing Sony can do. Unless they start tracking every PS3 user's location then you guys will be all like "zomg!!!! Sony invading my privacy!!! Teh evilslslsslsls!!!!"

You are allowed to hack your system. Look at the official statement from Sony it doesn't say its illegal or even that you shouldn't do it, it just says it will void the warranty and you won't be able to use the PSN.

The problem arise when you post a modified version of an OS on the internet without permission of the owner. Not because you modified your console to play homebrew.

People have money to donate to a guy like him but yet can't buy games legally? If they have so much money to donate to him, perhaps they should save it for more important things like breast cancer etc...

It's all about priorites but the people donating seem to be missing them.


That's just assuming that every donator is a pirate. Please don't say we are stuck on the "Hackers == Pirates" stage... T_T

It isnt lame at all.  If you wish to donate money, donate to someone who REALLY needs it. Not someone who got themselves into trouble and then whines about it.  If I get a traffic ticket or commit a crime, should I go online and beg for money??

Then it's simple: Don't buy/get rid of the product, and they'll think twice making a dick move. Consumers aren't that stupid.
