Why you need a single button to pop someone into the air is a little odd to me, but oh well, there's really nothing I can do 'bout it, is there?
Nevertheless, we've (me and my cousin) had a lotta' giggles with it so far.
As I don't feel like repeating what others have said already, (Like expressing my disappointment at the endings, which I hoped would be similar in style to the intro) I'll just say that the soundtrack kicks ass.
I like it a lot.
I don't like the arcade mode endings.I would have like animated endings like in street fighter 4 for each charter.
I hate that you can't watch match's in lobbies cuss I just really boring.
And I don't like the fact that there are dlc charters coming out.
Everything else is really good. The gamplay is awesome and it looks great.
Team: Zero,X-23,and Chun Li.
and am I the only on that thinks mike haggar and akuma are cheap charters?
| Burning Typhoon said: MvC3 is just... terrible... This is coming from the guy that added the game to the database.... I hate it, plain and simple.. The characters are all floaty. Controls are clunky, and characters bounce off the ground (wtf) for easy OTGs. There's no weight to this game, all the characters feel like plastic. The controls... Terrible... Special button is just a button that has all the moves of a certain property mapped to it... Can you imagine playing a fighter that had a Wall bounce button? Regardless of it being a kick or punch? If it's a wall bounce, it gets mapped to that button... That's the case with the launch... If it launches, it's on that button... Many characters, throughout the series had multiple Launchers, but, now... everyone has one... and it's mapped to the same button... On top of that... Light medium heavy? Now, because Special button contains that property, I told you about ANY OTHER attack has no such thing!! This is stupid... none of the standard buttons knock you away.... I nearly won the tournament, because the game is terribly simple (at a local gamestop) and, I would have had I remembered to use that cheap, overpowered X-Factor.... Attacks are strong enough in this game, and I'm fine with that.. But, X-Factor on top of that is just rediculous.. I saw someone complain about the endings.... MvC2 ending is FINE, because they weren't trying to overwork themselves... WTF Is the point of character endings when they're just a bunch of boring slide shows... Woo, how entertaining...... Same goes for the story... If you're going to do something, DO IT RIGHT... I'd rather see the game with a corny story, then to have them try and make a story, that turns out to be crap... But, back to the gameplay... It's SLOW, it's not compairable to Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 in ANY sense... It's not the characters, it's expected to have fewer if you're using fresh assets. Also, the controls are simple already, WHY is there a SIMPLE MODE on top of TvC inspired controls?! Pathetic... Manual mode isn't actually MANUAL when you have more than one attack per button... I can go on and on for the game about why I hate it.. And, if anyone thinks MvC3 is good, they're either a scrub in MvC2, or loved TvC, or a combination of the two... If you were actually good in MvC2, you would see exactly WTF is wrong with MvC3... It's X-factor, Simple controls, bouncing for OTGs, and whatever.... I saw the game for what it was months ago, so, luckily, I didn't buy it.. But, I have played it, and will probably play it again tomorrow... Wont miss this game at all.. 5.5 |
All I see is a big wall of text bitching about how it's not the same. If you want to play MvC2, then play MvC2. I welcome the changes and the fact they're trying to make it more accessible means more people like me actually get into it and play it. If that means McV2 snobs won't play me online, I'm cool with that.

Akuma. F'ing Akuma. His freakin spin kick always traps me in corners, and advanced guard suddenly stops for lord knows why when he uses that move.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

I don't normally post twice in a thread, but, this ONE time, I suppose I will....
1st off, in terms of high level play, Sentinel is STILL the best character in the game.
He's still fast, he's still over powered, and he still has the most health of anyone in the entire game... Sentinel with level 3 X-Factor can wipe out an entire team with one combo per character..
All characters in this game have a touch of death combo. In a couple of years (if that long) if you get touched, you die, plain and simple.
It's not that it's different from Marvel Vs. Capcom 2, it that what they changed is not welcomed... Sure, the characters can defend themselves better in general, that's good, because in MvC2, you won or lost based on your team mates... Good assists means you win..
In this game, what matters is when you do X-Factor... 1st to use X-Factor loses the match... And, if Dark Pheonix gets level 3 X-Factor, you've lost.... So, just wait on everyone to re-adjust... you'll be losing on a regular basist again, and see Sentinel pop up in every team.... Ten more years of MSS. There you go... Just like MvC2....
I didn't buy this game.. I played it twice.. And, I'm allowed to not be satisfied with it.... You don't see me knocking all of you that like the game.. So, don't make some big deal about me not liking the game.. Ask anyone who knows how to actually play Vs. games, they'll tell you it's not the gem that MvC2 was, and MvC3 could never live up to MvC2. Too simplistic.. every character has a S-M-M-H-S combo, among others... too simple, and just about everyone is the same... and, Chris is the new Cable.
I didn't like Marvel vs Capcom 2 at all. I was a Capcom vs SNK2 player, and I gotta say they made this game way better than Marvel 2. The only problem I have right now is that the online is flat out garbage. I mean it's even worse than Brawl online, which everyone here knows is fuckin grabage. Capcom vs SNK2 is still the best Vs game by far though. No questions asks.

Dark Phoenix with level 3 X-Factor is just plain sick.
I have a friend that cheese me range from Chris and Iron Man and then gets me with Hulk when I get close but I got Dark Phoenix with level 3 on him and utterly destroyed all three of his characters. It was especially fun killing Hulk with a single combo (homing TK shot, teleport, L-M-H combo, TK Drive, whatever her hyper attack is called).

Whenever peopl use phoenix, I make it my priority to take her out before they can switch....so far my plan has worked but now I'm concerned about that damn robot.

I actually don't touch Phoenix unless I'm at level 5 so you don't have a chance to touch her. :-p
Once I hit level 5, I immediately switch to her and start using her until they kill her and turn her into Dark Phoenix. At that point I switch her out and start using my other characters to build back up my hyper meter and use it freely with Dark Phoenix.

Also, my MvC3 TE Fightstick came in today.
