Forums - Sales - Gears, Pokemon, Zelda all considered recession proof.

Ipsos is a widely respected polling company. They do research for many firms and conduct polls to see what the average people want. Well this time they did a poll of the most anticipated games coming this year, the poll included several questions and conclude which titles are the most wanted and are "Recession Proof".

Right now investors want to know which game companies to invest their money in. With the recession still not completely over it is important to know what the gamers want. So Ipsos conducted the poll in both America and the U.K to bring you the top 25 most anticipated titles of 2011. See the findings for yourself below.

So I know poll's aren't fool proof but what are your thoughts is this chart accurate, do you agree with Ipsos findings and do you think that these results will translate into sales upon release?

Needs more Pikmin 3 and Portal 2!

OT: I have no idea how well Mortal kombat will sell. I'm guessing Twisted Metal might have the 2-3 millionish based on motorstorm and modnation's moderate successes.

Wow we in UK love our racers, Forza 3rd? Wut? Also lol @ FFXIII-2 not even being ranked in the UK! Wth!

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

Haha, look at that poll then look at the vgchartz poll, which is basically, Sony exclusive X = #1 most anticipated, #2,# 3, #4,# 5, then a few Wii titles, then Gears 3 way down at #20 or something...

Just goes to show forums are not the real world.

I think people may be in for a bit of disappointment when it comes to expectations about Mortal Kombat..........

The only issue I have is Pokemon being UNDER Gears.  I think the appropriate word would be "bollocks".  lol

Not really. Combined pokemon black/white have around 1.5times the purchase intent of gears of war which is about how much pokemon diamond and pearl outsold gears of war 2 in Americas. Also considering pokemon is a game about legs and has broad appeal to a very young audience a lot of the pokemon game sales will be based on people who probably don't even own a ds yet or know the game is coming out.

I thought that Pokemon might be number 1, but it's still nice to know that its popularity hasn't died.

~~~~ Mario Kart 8 drove far past my expectations! Never again will I doubt the wheels of a Monster Franchise! :0 ~~~~
This mostly makes sense...I just don't buy Mortal Kombat that high. It's burned us all in the past. Are they really that certain this one won't underperform?
I know a good amount of people who would only conisder buying the 3DS at launch because they will have Black and White to hold them until more games come out.  Most people know it is coming out.  And not showing intial purchase intent shouldn't come into this.  We all know the game will be purchased to the tune of 10 milliion eventually.  Pokemon is still the quintisential beast.
