So I saw this coming, although not as I imagined. A while back I was complaining about graphic card problems and expected that sooner or later my GPU was going to give out.

Seems my disc drive decided to give out first. It sucks in the disc but does nothing afterwards. It sounds like the drive doesn't want to spin, plus it doesn't even give me any DRE message.

I know my daughter is to blame too which is why I am not too mad. She has a habit of sticking discs in and then ejecting them. Just last week I went to play my PS3 only to find 4 discs shoved inside. I guess the PS3 said "Fuck this shit". 

Was getting HyperDimension Neptunia from Gamefly so now I am sad. 

Now I have to wait until the 22nd, that way my $300 gets me Killzone 3 along with the PS3 160GB. I would rather get a free game than no game at all.

I wasn't even going to get the game but now it seems that I am.

my died last march from ylod bought it july of 07 i couldnt part with it b/c of the ps2 B/C and how it looks much better than the new ps3 so i had it repaired something you to should consider

well at least it still boots up if you have CP game saves you can still salvage em to your new ps3

I am still keeping the 60GB. It plays Netflix and I can still play Modern Combat: Domination.

I will also get it fixed sometime down the road. I have a Play N Trade near me, but for the $130 it would cost me I figured I am better off getting a new one right now. Plus the new one uses less electricity.

Ahh that is somewhat sad but you seem somewhat happy after the initial Batiatus splurge :P

I am soldiering on the 160GB fat model. Hopefully the poor thing sticks for couple more years :)

So do you have a PS2 to get you through your urges to play PS2 games while you have to wait both for the new PS3 and the old one's backwards compatibility?

Nope, but I have Modern Combat: Domination to keep me busy.
