its gonna be 350 or less...at least that's the price point I want

some people whine about pretty much everything sony does. With the NGP they have done everything perfect so far, they definitely have learned and it shows. Wonder if they will give NGP some time at GDC next week

Indeed, which is why such posts/responses shouldn't be given much attention.

Anyway - I'm sure they've learned a lesson or two along the way. Just their revamping of the PS3 is a hint at such.

Yeah guess your right

and they have definitely learned, the few titles we know of already sounds better than the psp line up. The devs can't stop praising the device for being dev friendly. So far so good I say....COme on GDC!

$299 is affordable? Um, ok.

For what your getting hell yeh, if you want something close to it you'll ahve to pay $500 - $600.

I see base price $299 and 3G would probably be $349

To us people with jobs, yeah.

OLED and 4core is expensive. Cell phones today have 2cores and it wont be long until they get up to 4cores. So...It'll get cheaper in the future^^

I can't imagine it selling for any less than $349 with what's under the hood, the OLED multitouch, etc.

If it retails for $299, I'll be beyond surprised... but pleasantly surprised.

Well Sony has stated that they will be selling the NGP at a loss, so maybe a $299 NGP isn't really that far out of the picture.

It's good that Sony has realized their past arrogance and can't get away with selling a video game system at some outrageous price point. And it's about time they addressed this as well.

True, but it seems to me that $349 would already be selling at a loss.  After all, OLEDs aren't cheap, and this thing is a BEAST in the graphics department.

But I agree, pricing too high is likely suicidal against the 3DS.

Definitely. I think if Sony wants to stay competitive they have to have an NGP model at least $349 like you stated. And even that may be a little too high for an average consumer. Sony is in a very tough spot right now with the pricing of this thing.

The funniest statement in that article has to be "We always had the price and consumer in mind." Although, that is technically true when they told everyone to get a second job to buy one.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

I guess the only question now is HOW well they learned.

At 299 i'd be shocked and very happy, but i'd say its 349 which is still good. i'd be happy to pay 399 considering how much tech it has
