Forums - Gaming - Rate your RPG's.

I am in way over my head lately with RPG's.  Aside from Dead Space 2, these are the only games I am currently playing on my 360.  I am going to rate them, just for the fun of it, and would like your picks as well for future references.

Oblivion:  Started it for the first time a couple of nights ago and I can't put it down.  Grade: A

Two Worlds 2:  This is a great rpg.  Almost a masterpiece.  A

Dragon Age Origins, Ultimate Edition:  45 hours in and still have not even started Awakening.  B+

Mass Effect 2:  Almost too good.  A

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood:  Huge game.  Amazing graphics.  A-

Since I alternate games, I have not finished any of them.  Still many, many hours of exploring and looting to come.  I just love being an RPG type of gamer.

And even if it's not an RPG.  Dead Space 2:  Creepy as hell and super atmospheric.  A

Proud owner and supporter of the YAKUZA games!

Fallout 3 - 9.9

If it wasn't for the occasional but/freezing It would be a perfect 10

Oblivion - 9.4

Amazing game too, but I prefer guns to swords/magic so it gets a lower score than Fallout 3

Fallout New Vegas - 9.0

Awesome but not as fun as Fallout 3. Makes a lot of improvements but just doesn't have quite as much of the fun factor.

These are the only RPG's I've really played a lot this gen

Demon's Souls - 10/10 Speechless.

Dragon Age - 8.5/10 Veeeery long and has unnecessary combat.

Atelier Rorona - 7.5/10 A lighthearted rpg that doesn't have much variety.

Fable 2 - 9.5/10 My favorite lighthearted rpg.

Mass Effect 2 - 8.5/10 Didn't feel like a RPG at all.

Fallout 3 - 8/10 Very boring environments and repititive too. After a while in metro tunnels you would have to look at the map to know in which metro tunnel you are because they all look the same.

I think that's all....

Last time I checked Assassin's Creed Brotherhood is not an RPG!

okay this gen

tales of vesperia-9.5 very great game good story great battle system very likable cact

assasin creed brotherhood- 9 improves on everything from 2 except story though the story is good.

the last remnant-8.5- good long adventure with alot of quests

star ocean 4- 8.3 some good some bad it just didnt pop like 3 though

lost odyssey-9.2 incredible game witha good story and a traditional battle system that didnt get old

resonance of fate-8 solid game but it missed alot that could make it great imo

ff13-8.8 it w2as great nice cast to me good story it just needed more variety in terms of side quests and such

fallout 3- 9.5 i really got no bugs in this game and i love the atmoshphere

fallout new vegas. 9.0 improved alot from 3 but the atmosphere was lacking.

fable 2-8.0 man this game has certain features that get on my nerves and was a bit to short but what it did good i enjoyed.

magna carta 2- story was good to me lol cast of characters had some spunk and the battle system was aight but i dont like stamina systems.

theres more but im too lazy.

New Vegas: very fun, great story but riddled with bugs that are game breaking. I give it an 6/10. An graphical update to the fallout engine being that it is 2 years on would of been an bonus but being able to smoothly play the game was vital.

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong

Oh man...all of them...that is a chore and a half.  I'll go current Gen, sounds like fun.

Blue Dragon - 8  Very childish story but everything else is pretty awesome.

Fable II - 9  Tons of fun and pretty funny game.  Definately made me stay up late playing it.

Fable iii - 7.5  Don't know what happened.  Maybe it was just a been there done that feeling but I didn't have nearly as much fun with this one.

Infinite Undiscovery - 7 Decent and fun battle system...same with the story.  Nothing special but I stil enjoyed it.

Lost Odyssey - 9 I was pretty surprised by how much I liked this game.  Thought it had a great story and I really liked the battle system.  Could have done without the twin characters but the other characters were pretty awesome...didn't much care for most of the character designs but the actual characters were good.

Mass Effect - 10 Epic/amazing/must play/awesome awesome story

Mass Effect 2 - 10 pretty Epic...but not as epic as part 1 but for the lack of epic story it made up for it with improved gameplay.

Star Ocean:  The Last Hope - 6  Good lord the characters were annoying and the story was pretty bad.  Good thing the battle system was decent.

Tales of Vesperia - 9.5  My favorite tales game so far.  Yuri is one of my favorite RPG characters.  I loved the story but was dissapointed that the story tuned into every other Tales game about 90% of the way through it but still awesome.

Wow - 360 had way more RPG goodness than I thought

Disgaea 3 - 8  They're all about the same gameplay wise but for some reason it just wasn't as cool as the first one.

Eternal Sonata - 8  I liked the battle system/story was half way decent but what I really loved about this game was how gorgeous I thought it was when I played it.

Final Fantasy XIII - 8 I actually embraced the new battle system and found enjoyable but I miss the classic battle systems.

Valkyria Chronicles - 8 Battle system is incredibly enjoyable but man was that a boring story (except for the the Valkrie - that was pretty cool).

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 - 9 I loved Kingdom Hearts

Kingdom Hearts Re:coded - 7 I love Kingdom Hearts but this game was eh...decent I guess.  I will say that the battle system was better than 358/2 days but the story is lacking.

Kingdom Hearts Zero: Birth by SLeep - 11 I'm bias, I really really love Kingdom Hearts games but I would say that this Kingdom Hearts game is the second best in the series behind Kingdom Hearts 2.

My favorite RPG of all time would be Xenogears - if they remade that I would be one happy dude.

I will stick to this Gen:

Final Fantasy 11: 7/10

My first online RPG. I would have enjoyed it far more if it weren't that hardcore and timeconsuming. The latest update sounds pretty interesting, maybe I will come back and finish the last few story missions.

Eternal Sonata: 8/10

It was a nice game. 1 bonus point for coop gameplay.

Final Fantasy XIII 10/10

Great Story and realisitc Characters. Best game of this generation for me so far. Don't know why it is so heavily criticized in the US.

Sacred 2: 4/10

500 Sidequests ensure repetition and the main Story quest was awful.

DeathSpank 1 2: 5/10

Again a boring main Story quest and repetitive sidequests. 1 bonus point for the sense of Humour.

Borderlands: 6/10

Good Coop-Gameplay. Awful Main Story and repetitive sidequests.

White Knight Chronicles: 7/10

Nice Story. The Online Part was fun for many hours, but low drop rates killed it on the higher Guild Ranks. Looking firward to WKC 2 though.

Dragon Age: 4/10

I just couldn't stand this decision/moral system. It destroyed the pacing and I always felt that I could miss something if I would choose a "wrong" decision. So I never came to a enjoy the game. Had the same problem with the Mass Effect 2 demo....

Oblivion: 2/10

I hope noone takes this personal, but after 30 hours of pure boredom and wondering how such a game could be "game of the year" I had to quit playing... I have never been so dissapointed with a game because it got great reviews everywhere. It was the pure opposite of what I like about RPGs... I didn't like the "silent" main character with no personality, the storytelling through dialogues with monotone speech (I played the german version), the awful main story countless sidequest system, the leveling system, the action-based fighting system, the moral system, the first person view...

Conclusio: It seems that I can enjoy Japanese Console RPGS far more than western pc-rpgs. In Fact, after disliking Dragon Age, Oblivion and Mass Effect 2 I can safely say that I do not like pc-style RPGS at all.
