I don't care how much units nintendogs sell....I will buy Crisis Core over that any day. If you don't think so, then maybe it's not for you

and there ARE many simple handheld games for psp as well. You don't see them selling gazillions either, but the quality tops most crap that sells better

so you've played nintendogs?  you played all these "CRAP" games that you mention?  and these gazillion simple psp games are all better?

oh wait that right, your a gamer.  gamers are selfish, imature kids who think that anything not catered to them should be burned.  how dare we make games that a 10 year old girl might enjoy.  toss the cute puppy, she needs to just grow the fuck up and learn to handle an ak-47 and pwn someones ass.

ugh no? if you follow that logic aren't you the immature one here? you downplay games on the psp saying it's console games on the go and it's wrong bla bla bla and how nintendogs etc are great portable games etc....it's a matter of opinion..I find nintendogs crappy as hell! Yes i played it and returned it right after cuz my gf for whome I got it didn't like it either..picross 3d was picked up in return and that was a much better game. I have played many highest selling games on almost all consoles, do I think every FPS should follow COD cuz it sells so so much better? Hell No!

and no there are more than enough casual friendly (can be enjoyed by anyone as well) games on the psp as well. I don't get why people bitch about lack of so called portable games on the psp. There are many available. They sell even worse!

And name calling shows who is the immature brat here. I never said, unlike some tend to do when it comes to psp games, that Nintendogs like games should be stopped, cuz obviously there is a market for that type of game. But if the psp focused on games like that I wouldn't like the psp on the same level as I do now.

I don't care if a million ppl come here screaming console IP's don't work on the psp or sales mean gamers don't like it. Cuz unlike I don't think my own opinion should be everyones opinion. So no she doesn't need to grow the fuck up and play FPS. She can play Locoroco, Patapon or exit or something like that and let those who like Chains of Olympus to play that.

no its not the same.  i like cod, uncharted, ect games.  I just did not like them on a handheld.

Nintendogs is not made for us.  Doesn't matter if you played it or not.  If I go to the Opera and say it sucks, that doesn't mean it sucks.  The opera is not for me, jus tlike nintendogs is not for us.

I didn't say sony has to make nintendog games either.  there are plenty of good games on handhelds psp/ds alike that are "hardcore" yet not basically copies of console games.

BESIDES, this isn't me arguing that they a re shitty games.  This is a SALES website, and that is what i'm arguing.  I asked PSROCk the same question and i'll ask you.  I'll also ask you follow up questions.  Go in order and answer them

  • Would you rather play Uncharted 3 on PS3 or NGP?
  • if PS3, then why would you buy a NGP?
  • if NGP, then why would you buy a PS3?
  • if both, are you going to spend $110 to have both?
  • That is my whole point.  The NGP if it only has games like this is making the PS3 its biggest competitor.  Sony is fighting ITSELF?  That is not a good business strategy.

    1. That's like asking would I rather do Sofia Vergera or Carmen Electra. I say this cuz it won't be the 'same' game. I will play it on both! Different experiences.

    2. I will buy the ps3 for the games only playable on it, so far the exclusives have not disappointed me

    3. 110? :S wait wha? Are you adding the price of two games? If the game is different I will buy both. If it's the same depends on the game. I played Tekken DR more than Tekken 5 and 6 combined for example.

There you go, my answer. It's not fighting against the ps3, they are making it so it will 'compliment' the home console as well. I think this problem is only in your head at the moment. We saw NEW games of IPs like KZ, UC and R WITH new IP like Gravity Daze, Broken etc. If you're a fan of KZ for example, you will play both versions cuz they are different games.  I played ALL GOW games and loved them all!

PSP has MANY amazing casual friendly games too, they haven't sold on the same level of some games you mentioned. So what's the issue there?

There tons of games designed for both DS and Wii that sell nothing, it's about the market, the types of gmaes you release. The Conduit was designed for the Wii, Scribblenut was designed for the DS, but did it sell tens of million.

The Wii sells a type of games, The DS too. The PSP only caught on in japan with tons of games made for it, but it was its control that messed it up for me. I feel NGP is fixing that.

Well, that may be what you want. I'm not convinced that was the problem for the general buying public.

    that's their problem

just a quick thinking process for you

Imagine you are asked to play a game.  Lets take Pinball, and Uncharted.  Both state of the art, best graphics, controls, AI, physics, sound, ect you name it.

Which system would you want to play either on?  the NGP or the PS3?   identical games, no difference in the NGP or PS3 versions.

I would choose to play uncharted on the PS3 and Pinball on the NGP.

Imagine that for any other game you can think of.  If you can't decide, then its one that is a perfect game for both, such as new super mario bros.  if your leaning towards one way over the other then thats teh type of game it is meant to be.  And thus why the reason I believe PSP failed software wise.  Too many games where you would think "i want that on my ps3"

Again the reason we wanted to play PSP games on the PS3 is because it plays better on the PS3, that won't be the issue anymore. Why is that so hard to understand, the PSP has sucky control compared to the PS3.

    quick answer my question

If you were given the choice would you rather play Uncharted 3 on your ps3, or on your NGP?

Right now, I would buy both.

so your going to spend $110 (60/50) to be able to play uncharted 3?

You did, you have two Zelda : one DS and one Wii.

huh?  i own spirit track, phantom hourglass and twilight princess

    none are the same game.

fyi my games list is way out of date

but you bought a console game on the DS

i've seen lots of talk and exitement saying how you can save your game and using psn load your saved game and just satrt playing it on the go.  so essentially having uncharte 3 on ngp and uncharted 3 on ps3.

now if they are totally different games, then thats different, but was referring to them being exact same.  Which i doubt sony woudl do, but i can see a lot of developers doing.  The same with Wii/3DS being same roughly graphically, with NPG and 360/ps3 being roughly same, i imagine basically direct ports, even if released same time.

so comes down to the consumer going.  Hmm do i want to buy the new call of duty for my ps3, 360 or my ngp.  they will not buy it for all 3.  that is my point.  by having a handheld the same as the consoles it puts itself in competition with itself.  I'm sure sony will try to make a differnet game for each.  but fact is based on past its handheld is basically spinoffs of its mains on the console.  Nintendo has different offering all together.  Nintendo has spinoffs on wii of handheld games, and vise versa.  sony has only spinoff in one direction, from console to handheld.

If you were given the choice would you rather play Uncharted 3 on your ps3, or on your NGP?

Right now, I would buy both.

so your going to spend $110 (60/50) to be able to play uncharted 3?

Your scenario is odd, because the vast majority of titles on the PSP are designed for the PSP. Chains of Olympus isn't God of War 2, it's God of War: Chains of Olympus. MGS: Peace Walkker isn't MGS4. Daxter isn't Jak 3. I could go on, but the point is that every 3DS warrior is under the weird assumption that every PSP game was a direct port of a PS2 game and that the same thing will apply to the NGP. Which, judging by the lineup, seems to be something that the 3DS is guilty of and no ones willing to counter that argument.

The reason why the PSP failed was a consistent combiantion of piracy and bad controls. The audience that purchases PSP's are the same people that would have the knowledge of how to hack their system. The same can't be said for the audience of the DS, which I'll admit has a piracy problem, but the majority of that audience consists of casual users and are far less likely to know how to download Roms or how to purchase an R4 chip over a fan of Jeanne d'Arc who could probably sof mod their PSP with a teaspoon.

The NGP seems to be fixing the majority of problems the PSP had. It's offering games for the gamer, games for the casual gamer, new experiences, a great interface and much cheaper games. I don't think it's going to conquer the world, but it's going to do well and it should be able to resell itself to the current PSP userbase (hopefully with a better security system).

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

not sure where you got the idea from, BUT all the UC, KZ and R games announced are NEW games. The talk of playing games at home and taking it on the go when you go out might be what you are referring to. To some, that will be a very good thing, like me who have stay out a lot. But it's all speculation at this point. Facts are all games announced are NEW games.

There is a big market of consumers who travel a lot, for them a COD on the go will be an awesome thing.Spin offs are good, they are NEW games, not direct ports. Good example, Dexter! One of the best games/spin offs of all time imho. They are different.

If you look at the 3ds line up, aren't most games 'direct' ports of console games? SF, Zelda, Cave Story etc? As of now, the problem of ports are with 3ds from what we know now.

NGP will be able to play both casual and core games. I believe it will bring a new experiece even the console can't bring. The PSP did not have that advantage.

Yep, Those are the top selling PSP games.

Well, using Chains of Olympus as an example, I'd say there's a reason that the highest rated PSP game, released on a system with a much higher userbase than the PS3 had last year, and bundled for months in NA, was soundly trounced in sales by God of War III.  Ghost of Sparta did far, far worse.

You can blame gimped controls all you want, but the PSP God of War games were also far shorter and uglier than their console counterparts, and they were made by a third party instead of the original developers.  Anybody in their right mind would prefer to play the actual trilogy, even if the PSP had dual analog controls.

And controls wouldn't have been an issue at all if developers hadn't focused on making console clones.  Guerrilla Games did things right with Killzone: Liberation, though the game had its problems in other areas.  If only more of Sony's internal studios had taken the platform seriously.

However, I think NGP will do much better in this regard.  Just looking at Uncharted, it makes heavy use of touch controls for things like maps and whatnot, helping to differentiate itself from its console brethren instead of simply being an inferior clone.  Though most of the additions we've seen so far are gimmicky and superficial at best.

    Who hacked your account?

Are you serious?  For years all people complained about was the PSP crappy control, it was a huge flaw, and was the most wanted fix on the PSP.

I've played both GOW games, and throughout my times, I never cared on how short or how it looked, i really missed how it controlled on the PS3. The stories are better on the PSP, it's just as epic and frankly some of the best games on the PSP. The only thing it was missing was in the control area.

And yes I agree Sony also messed up with the PSP, but I feel that their biggest mistake was the making a non touch PSP with a crappy controller.

It's your problem too, because overall success of the system will influence the future choices that will be available to you.

Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.

fyi my games list is way out of date

but you bought a console game on the DS

You really should find a friend that own either of Spirit Track or Phantom Hourglass and try it.

Then you can come back here and facepalm.
