Probably PS3, they were making a loss for too long on the PS3 to make it back now.

Both will be very successful financially, just the 360 more so IMO

I wouldn't say that. Both will make money for the company, when we add SW such as Rathcet And Clank, GT5 to the mix, as well as Move etc. 

360 will undeniably be miles ahead, yes. But Sony will have money back when you add all these factors together than if they flat out decided not to make the console in the first place

PS3 has lost Sony 5 billion, and that's assuming PSP and PS2 has made no money since 2005. Like someone else said PS3 losses are likely in the 6 - 7 billion range, something Sony will NEVER make back from the PS3, Move and its SW.

360 has lost MS $750 up to now, and they made $600 mill profit last Q ... so they most definitly WILL make money on the 360.

How do you suppose PS3 is going to make $7 billion over the next few years then, when PS2 and PS1 and their SW barely did that combined in their lifetime? and PS3 is still breaking even ... you're not thinking things through 0_o

Nah, TBF, I don't know. I assumed that the SW wasn't included and basing from the fact that they lost $7,000,000,000 (big number O.o) excluding all sales

Yeah, they probably won't make it back. So maybe they'll do something different for next gen?

Or...maybe they won't do anything?

Actually the answer to the orignal question would be PS3. Xbox, vs 360, vs PS3.  The original lost around 4 bilion, and the ps3 around 5 billion.  Xbox combined, I'm pretty sure lost more though.

Wrong, $5 billion is the minimum PS3 lost sony, like others have said it's probably in the $6 - $7 billion region, In total MS EDD division is $5 bill in the red after the $2 billion plus profit they've made over last 3 years.

So combined, PS3 has lost more money for Sony than the Xbox franchise has for Microsoft.

Considering that the PS2 alone sold more software in 2006 than the entire Playstation family (PS3 PS2 PSP) will in 2010, it had to have made a massive profit in 2006. Yet the game divsion lost almost $2 billion.

That means the PS3 loss must have been HUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGEEEEEEEE!



Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.
