Could be that. Everywhere I went in the last month was in short supply if not any 360's in stock.I have yet to see a 360 Kinect bundle. As far as the stand alone kinect units, they where always in stock.

not at the stores i shop at, there are always a decent number of "360s".  only thing is even though there are plenty of 360s availible i haven't seen any non-kinect bundles.  tons of stand-alone kinects though -- i guess it helps the stand alone kinect is so small for retail space but in my stores there are always 1 - 2 dozen units on the shelves.

Seems funny but people who favor ps3 always seem to see a million 360's on the shelf, not that you haven't but just seems fishy.

I have yet to see a 360 Kinect bundle since christmas. 250 GB 360 a few. A few 4GB 360's but no 360 Kinect bundles. not only that but my cousin just tried to find a unit and searched the whole IL, lake county area and couldn't find a 360 Kinect bundle .

He wanted it so bad that he just bought a 250 GB 360 and a stand alone Kinect. Helps he has a 10% employee discount card because his mom works at wal-mart.

I agree that it could be the local issue here, but i travel for a living and i can tell you that this was VERY common during January no matter where i went.  I thought that it had resolved itself by last week, and then i came across this again yesterday.

if you are refering to me, i only tell it as i see it. 

anyways, as immortalized in this post (http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=3824668) i did see huge 360 shortages just on the other side of the new year.  since about a week into the new year though there hasn't been any issue for me -- not saying they have a big stock in back but the shelves are stocked.

which btw -- since you live in chicago the specific stores i shop at are the target on elston (between damen and western), the target on hobson and 355 in downers grove, and the best buy on butterfield near the yorktown mall and oak brook mall.

I love images and how they supposably tell the whole picture the 360 is not in short supply in the US. Your store could have simply not reordered the console for a while or any other number of possibilities or the system might be popular in that area but the system is not in short supply for the whole country.

The only thing that was ever claimed is that the out of stock issue for the 360 in the US may not be cleared up yet.  If you understand how stock levels at big box retailers work, you would know that they don't order stock for themselves and that every region has warehouses that keep supplies of high selling items.  The likely scenario is that when microsoft told the resellers to sell their JAN/FEB stocks, they did just that.  Along with that, they have probably been drop shipping(shipping via fedex or UPS) direct to stores to keep up with sales or replenish stock.  Either way, the point of the thread was to communicate what i found, i hope through the thousands of users here, get more feedback on stock levels elsewhere.

These "shortages" always end up with inflated X360 sales numbers which are then adjusted down when shipment numbers arrive.

I was talking generally in the lake county area.Yes your comment did spark the comment but it was more that is the way I have seen it through out the last month BUt generally I don't see you flaming or putting in bullsh-t comments. SO it was because of you but not so much for you.  I never had a problem with a majority of your post if any really at all. So thats my honest opinion.

If you live near lake county I'm having a underground house/ techno music party this sat and the 26th. Bikini bartenders, hugh system, lights the works. Figure I would let a local gamer now. If your interested, look for evolution movement on Facebook. 

but if you are talking about stores close to me I was at the wal-mart in round lake and bestbuy in I think it would be condsidered mundelein. I've really been all over.
