Except, VGchartz doesn't count the free PS3's givin away.

You never fail to amaze me.

VGChartz happily enough counts free Wii Sports and touts it as the best selling game of all time.

If VGChartz can do that, it can count PS3's that come with over a grands worth of TV.

It's not like they don't count it because don't want to.  They don't count it because there is no way to track it.

Up until GFK announced how many were given away, how would VGchartz have tracked that?  It's not like they have TV sales trackers.

I mean... common sense here.

It's the same reason those Burger King giveaway games didn't get tracked.

how bad is your math

Can us get a late month with adjustments done.

VGC Americas Jan 2010:
PS3 - 386k
360 - 374k

NPD US Jan 2010:
PS3 - 276k (88.7%)
360 - 332k (71.5%)

You want I get another month?  Just make your choice at least a year late because the adjustments.

you didn't need to get another month, just get the LTD

and just don't keep "thinking" okay?

Ok. But the PS3 has released in some countries in America just late 2009 and early 2010... so how can I get LTD when almost all PS3 data is US and Canada.

Today the proportion is more like 360 85-90% and PS3 75-80%.

Good Lord.. Sony Aus had a FREAKIN' ONLINE COUNTER that showed how many PS3 were given away in the Bravia deals. How difficult is THAT to track?

Granted Sony's 3D TV promotion probably was impossible to track (Sony had two 3D TV promotions over the holidays , one gamepack and one blu-ray pack). Worldwide, anywhere from 100k-500k PS3s might have been tied up in those promotions that would explain some of the high 6.3m shipping number.

I know... but I was finding the NPD LTD... so I found until Nov 2010 (I will sum the others months late).

VGC Americas LTD (until Nov 2010):
PS3 - 16,797,340
360 - 27,002,934

NPD US LTD (until Nov 2010):
PS3 - 14,261,200 (83.8%)
360 - 23,561,300 (87.2%)

I was wrong... 360 continue 85-90% but PS3 is more like 80-85% (I said 75-80% before).

It's the same reason those Burger King giveaway games didn't get tracked.

Someone just pointed out. There was an online tracker saying how many had been gone.

And even then, now that Gfk have said how many there were, there is no reason to not adjust accordingly, is there?
